City Castle Aparthotel

The apartment was great, but we didn’t expect how much we would like the neighborhood. Lots of restaurants with great people.

The best thing about this apartment is the location. It is in a beautiful and quiet part of Prague with a great local atmosphere. There are many cafés and restaurants nearby, including excellent Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants. The metro and tram stops are only a few minutes away, and there is also a train station nearby. The area feels safe, peaceful, and much less touristy than the city center. The apartment itself is spacious and comfortable. There is a large sofa, a kitchen, a fridge, a separate toilet, and enough space to relax. I also worked from the apartment during my stay, and the internet was fast and reliable with good coverage throughout the apartment.

The apartment needs some maintenance. The clothes drying rack was damaged, and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall on the first day. The bathroom door and toilet door have no proper handles and are closed only by magnets, which did not work very well. The water pressure in the shower was extremely weak, making it difficult to take a comfortable shower. The apartment also lacked some basic items, such as a dish drying rack and a proper desk for working. There were only high bar stools, which are not comfortable for long periods of work. The sound insulation is poor. I could hear almost every step and conversation from the hallway through the entrance door. The advertised garden view was disappointing, as there was no real view of a garden from my apartment. The bed was acceptable, but the mattress was very thin, and the pillows and blankets felt cheap. The TV was also very small by today’s standards. The air conditioning was not a regular built-in unit but a portable air conditioner stored in a small utility room.
