Everything ! Very clean and comfortable room. Delicious breakfast. Great honesty bar where we met and chatted to some lovely people. The hosts made us feel at home couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice, all freshly prepared, lovely coffee.
We stayed in the Elizabeth Fry room, was spacious enough, nice bathroom with a lovely deep bath, tea and coffee making facility, fridge with water provided.
The bed was amazing, really comfortable and fantastic pillows to accompany.
Very friendly and helpful staff, the hotel itself is great, it's a proper old school traditional English hotel in a historic building, very tastefully decorated and well laid out.
I added some "negatives" but in reality they were not a big thing for us, I just thought it worth noting to help others.
Parking. No onsite car park, the available parking is in a private car park 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is situation on a very steep hill, it is at the lower part of the hill, as is the car park. Not a major problem if you have good mobility, but could be troublesome if you have difficulty walking. The road is also cobbled, so adds more difficulty if you have poor mobility or want to dress up in heels.
The bedroom we stayed in - Elizabeth Fry - everything squeaks. The bed squeaks, the floor is uneven and squeaks, when you walk across the floor it moves all the wooden furniture, which also squeaks.
The Bathroom window looks out on gardens, the loo is right next to the window which isn't your typical opaque glass, it's just normal glass. There is a blind but it's very thin and I doubt it would block much of the "view" from the garden :-)

Beautiful building, superbly decorated, unique and comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean, delightful public areas, delicious breakfast and every single member of the brilliant team had a genuine smile on their face. A wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended.
