For us, first and foremost, it was all about the location. Great restaurants of all standards nearby, bars, shopping and easy access to the old town. Fantastic.
The room was large, airy and two sets of double doors with Juliette balconies, overlooking a pedestrianised pavement outside, but not without issues. We loved and enjoyed the sounds of life outside, and rarely closed the doors, but it probably isn't for everyone.
Breakfast was decent and decor was nice.
The room was slightly let down somewhat by damp (not mould) plaster in the hallway by the door, which appeared to be caused by a leak in the room above. We could live with it, but it did mean the room could be a little musky if the doors to the balconies were not left open. Not the end of the world but an explanation or small apology would have been welcome.
The desk staff were efficient and not unfriendly, but not exactly welcoming either and interactions seemed a bit perfunctory.

We loved our room - spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent - a good choice of savoury and sweet. And, as others have commented, the breakfast room was gorgeous!
