I liked that the room was up to date modern and the bathroom was clean. I liked the back area too where you can have a pleasant bfast.

Our room was in the basement which made me Claustrophobic. It was hard to operate the aircon/heater even though we tried following instructions. The shower door was only 1/4 the length of the shower so the rest of it was open hence water splashed on the floor all over.

It had friendly staff, it was clean and had a lovely garden … once we got our bearings it was in quite a good location

Parkeren voor de deur gaat helaas niet. Niet heel ver weg is een goede parkeergarage, maar dat is uiteraard betaald en een stukje lopen met je koffers. Ontbijt was zeker niet in verhouding met de sterren van het restaurant. Weinig keuze, veelal gericht op English Breakfast, veel op als je komt ontbijten en weinig plek om te zitten.

The staff provided excellent assistance throughout our stay. While their efforts were evident, the experience sometimes resembled scenes from Fawlty Towers (the British sitcom). However, the location was convenient for families, with easy access to various amenities.

Unfortunately, we had quite a few hiccups during our stay. I don't mean to complain but for the price (about €400 per night), we expected better. Problems included: The breakfast had next to no gluten-free options, even though we asked. Two lights in the room were broken, which was a problem because the room was already quite dark being in the basement. We requested a fix on the first day, and they repaired one of them. The following day, we asked if they could add another light somewhere since it was still too dim. They responded by placing an extra lamp, which did improve the lighting situation. Another concern was the shower knob, which frequently fell off, posing a safety risk, especially with young children. Despite reporting the issue early on, it took almost 48 hours for someone to call to our door (5 mins before we were checking out) to come to address it. On top of that, the bar was closed one night because of staff issues, and breakfast was a mess the next morning for the same reason. It didn't ruin our trip, but for the price, I expected better service. The location was nice, and the staff were friendly, but it felt like they were short-staffed. I suggest to others that it’s probably not the best price/quality option around.

Lage fussläufig zur Altstadt, ruhig, mit der Tram vom Airport gut zu erreichen. Umfangreiches, leckeres Frühstück. Großes Zimmer mit begehbarem Schrank, Bad mit Wanne, genügend Ablagen und sehr sauber, Betten bequem und verschiebbar, wenn man kein Doppelbett möchte. Wasser, Tee und Kaffee zur Zubereitung im Zimmer. Süßigkeit zu Begrüßung.

Im Zimmer im Untergeschoss war die Aussicht auf den davor liegenden Schacht begrenzt. Es roch aus dem Abfluss im Bad. Um Verbrauchsartikel im Bad aufgefüllt zu bekommen, musste der Mitarbeiter angesprochen werden.

I booked a room with a nice view and I got a room in the basement, with small window and the view as per attached photo. Bathroom very very small, so different from the one on Booking site and very stincky. The receptionist told me that rooms on booking.com are not the same as at hotel, but after many complains they changed my room only the day after cause apparently they were fully booked. The new room was very nice, as per the one I booked. When I checked out, I asked for an invoice providiving my company details but I have been told that the printer machine was not working. I asked to get it by email and I solicited 2 times cause they did not send it. Finally, they sent me the invoice which was wrong, I asked to correct it and after 5 days I have not received the correct one. Bad service

We had a lovely stay here at Voco everything was in walking distance of what we wanted to see! A short walk down the hill to the Arthur’s seat trail / Hollywood palace! So close to the Nelson monument literally just up the hill if you turn left out of your hotel. We even walked to the castle from Hollyrood as we walked the royal mile and even the shopping centre was super close if you turn left and go down the hill so everything was right on our doorstep and not far to walk to but also it was out of the city so it was so peaceful and a beautiful setting.

The staff were so helpful and friendly, it was my partner's birthday and they set up the room with some balloons and gave us some free drink tokens which was amazing. I was planning on proposing during our staff and the staff were really helpful in making it such an amazing experience. The breakfast was great and the location was perfect getting into the center! We'll definitely stay again

Location is great. Near enough to the town centre yet in a quiet area. The staff were super and couldn’t have done enough for us. The Easter bunny with sweets & card was a beautiful gesture. Room was clean & tea/coffee facilities were very welcoming. Lovely to have robes in room too. Breakfast was beautiful with plenty of choice. We were so happy with this beautiful hotel.

Bed could have been a bit bigger for 2 people.

Very happy with my stay at VOCO Royal Terrace, a short walk to the city centre and lots of public transport options. The hotel was cozy and modern and rooms were very comfortable and clean. The food was really good, had the beef bourguignon and it was delicious. Its around the corner from Calton Hill too, it was a gentle walk to the top. The staff made the hotel really, so friendly and nice, especially Molly on reception who couldn't do enough for us.

No plugs by the bed, just USB portals but we were given an extension lead.

We had two rooms and the shower in one of the rooms was not working. So we all had to shower in one of the rooms. We asked for help but did not get it.

About everything was good at this hotel, nice staff and clean facilities. Close to about everything in Edinburgh. Very good stay!

A well located hotel, on a beautiful street

We were first put in a room that was in the basement, with a view of a wall. We asked to move and were put in another room overlooking the garden. When booking the room it said "city view", it was a very big room but the windows were so dirty you couldn't really see out and the body wash and shampoo were completely empty, asked for them to be refilled but that never happened. The door for the bathroom also didn't close properly or have a lock.

They assigned a room in basement. You can hear everyone walking upstair. It is very hard to sleep.

The room was very spacious and well equipped, the breakfast was very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful.
