The location is beautiful. The waterfall on site is magical especially sitting at the cafe next to it in the sunshine. A little quiet haven yet so close to the hustle and bustle of Ambleside. Staff are very friendly and the extensive buffet breakfast is delicious.
Some of the rooms look a bit tired but I don’t mind that given the very reasonable prices. But the decorated rooms with garden view are delightful.

We stayed in a ground floor lodge room. Very dog friendly! The room was large, good sized fridge, huge bed, comfy chairs by large full length window overlooking beautiful scenery. 1 mile walk into Ambleside, took 22 minutes . 4 minute walk to private bay on the edge of lake Windermere.
Room was a little cold as radiator would not switch on.
