Don't let the stairs concern you - this loft is absolutely wonderful. In the heart of Old Montreal with a spectacular view, we spent a long, snowy weekend here and loved it. Everything you need is walkable. The pictures are accurate and the loft was very comfortable. We loved it and hope to get back. The hosts were awesome - when we left some glasses in the loft, they arranged to have them shipped back to us. Book this while you can!

Spent three days at this property and loved my stay. Location is stunning - beautiful view and right in the heat of Old Montréal. Great way to visit so much of the city - and all on foot. Cafes, bakeries, bars, shops, restaurants, attractions - just great.
Only things I’d warn about is you’re on the 4th floor - so it’s a bit of a hike to get up to the place. Also, you can’t pull up right in front of the property. You need to unload just down the block. But that’s minor. The location is so cool and the views are amazing.
Wonderful.

The property is very nice, they included many amenities that made our stay comfortable. The view is beautiful. Just note that it, like all old apartment complexes, does not have an elevator so you will have to climb about 80 stairs.

You can’t get more centrally located than this place!

Location, location, location. There is probably no better location in Old Montreal. However, no wash cloths, dish towels, pot holders, cover for ironing board or coffee filters. No laundry soap or trash bags. No top sheet, only covered duvet. Loud deep pulsing bass, 9:30am to 9:30pm, from air handler on the roof over the kitchen. The faucet in bathroom wobbles badly. Shelves in bathroom lean down and things fall off easily. Chairs in kitchen are incredibly wobbly and unstable. Bedroom shades are unreliable and hard to get back up.

This apartment is in the heart of Montreal so visitors get a real feel for city. Close to metro for exploring other areas. Bike rentals are close by for the trails. Be prepared to climb four floors to get to the apartment y which is above the restaurants so evening noise of the city last into the late evening. If you don’t mind those attributes, it’s a nice place to lay your head in an old and wonderful city.

The refrigerator was a bit of a problem. The place could have better equipped with cooking dishes, pots and pans. Air conditioning was not very effective. Bed was comfortable but was expecting the air mattress to be set up with linens on it. No wash cloths or dish towels. The cheap paper towel was a turn off. Bugs were a bit of a turn off also. No screens on windows.

What can we say - we love this place, and the hosts! Very warm
& welcoming - both the hosts and the loft!! Super cute, truly sun-lit loft in Old Montreal. Will always be one of our most favorites places and airbnb's! We had a wonderful stay, thank you again for your outstanding hospitality Cynthia & Michael!

What a great location to begin your discovery of Old Town Montreal. The apartment was beautiful and the neighborhood, while the center of busy restaurants and bars, was very quiet from our place above. Unless stairs are a problem for you, stay in this vibrant and classic neighborhood. Everything is walkable from here!

Comfortable suite on main square in Old Montreal. Close to metro but lots to do within easy walking distance.

This is an amazing apartment right in the midst of all the activities associated with Old Montreal. The property is exactly like the photos and more. It is very well equipped and one of the best VRBO experiences with simple items like salt and pepper and basics needed to make a meal. The owners were responsive to our questions and very helpful. We had an overnight flight so spent the morning at the Bota Bota spa - highly recommend. The property is right on St. Paul Street so excellent access to restaurants, shops and other activities. Definitely would return.

Located right in Jacques Cartier square. Heart of Old Montreal. Easy to walk to many sites. The owners were attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend this property. As a side note there is a wonderful Nordic spa at the port. It is called Bota Bota.

My family of two adults and twin 9-year-old daughters were making our first trip to Montréal. We were looking to stay in a part of town reminiscent of Paris, and the Old Port seemed to fit the bill. This place delivered in spades. We stayed in the top floor corner unit, with floor to ceiling windows letting in terrific light and offering a commanding view of Place Jacques-Cartier. It made for terrific people watching, particularly in the evenings. We didn't mind the noise, from the bagpipe player on most early afternoons to the funk bass guitarist and the amplified violin later in the evening. It may be noisy enough to bother sensitive ears.
The apartment is indeed up on a 4th floor, with no elevator option, and there aren't great options for parking and unloading nearby, as Place Jacques-Cartier is a pedestrian zone. So, if you and your family are OK with clambering up and down four flights of stairs, can carry their own luggage, and you can pack light, it's fine. If you have needs such as baby strollers, wheelchairs, or tons of gear, this place will be somewhat challenging.
The king sized bed and futon were both very comfortable. The bathroom had great water pressure (we were running the washing machine, doing dishes, and showering at the same time with no problems at all). The kitchen has a four-plate electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave, and a drip coffee maker on premises. We didn't use the stove, everything else worked great. WiFi service was solid, though I struggled with working the TV and cable.
The location is ideal, if you want to be in the midst of the Old Port. It does make for some schlepping -- the nearest Metro station is four blocks and a big hill away, non-tourist-trap coffee options are also a few blocks away. And while there's charm in a square with six ice cream shops and no banks (my home town is often more like the other way around), it can make finding a fee-free ATM a bit of a challenge, too.
We contemplated renting their parking spot, but once I arrived in Montréal, we decided we weren't driving anywhere. We parked about two blocks away, in the parking lot associated with the Montréal Science Center, in a lot that has electric car chargers to boot.
We loved the location, loved the light, and would love to come back here, next time we're back!

Husband and I had a lovely week in Montreal, courtesy of Cynthia and Michel's lovely apartment! We were right on the square in the middle of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Every morning a small battalion of 18th Century soldiers come marching down the square with bagpipe and drums. The food at the various local restaurants is delicious, the people-watching from the apartment is great. We walked about 25 km/15 miles in 7 days seeing sights and finding cool restaurants like Robin Square (amazing homemade food run by a mother, son and daughter who all went to culinary school together) and Le Speakeasy, which is a terrific bar and restaurant hidden behind an ice cream shop like a real speakeasy. So, much. fun. and the food is delicious. You have to experience it to believe it!
The only drawback to the place is that it's a 4th floor walkup and those stairs are no joke. It got a little easier toward the end of the stay, but that last flight was always grueling. Don't let that keep you from staying here, though. The location and comfort of the apartment more than make up for that extra flight of stairs!

A contemporary apartment in a historic building right in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port. The apartment offers a bird’s eye view of Jacques Cartier Plaza and easy access to Monteal’s exceptional Metro system which opens up the whole city for exploration. There are plenty of great shops and restaurants within walking distance and many more just a short Metro ride away. We enjoyed a bicycle tour of Montreal’s quaint neighborhoods and the Lachine Canal and the famous Jazz Festival.

Could not have been better. The location is the best in the city. Great food, activities, access to the Metro and Old City sites. Nothing was missing. Friendly and helpful hosts made our stay excellent. Thank you!

We had a great time staying at this beautiful apartment. The location is excellent. Steps from great places to eat and perfect for relaxing walks around the city. The owners are great! They met us when we arrived late on a Friday night and provided us with excellent recommendations for things to do. The apartment is comfortable, clean, quiet, and was perfect for our weekend. We would stay here again! Thanks again for everything.

The owners were nothing but accommodating throughout this entire process. The day we arrived in Montreal we had been driving through freezing rain for 6 hours and walking into such a beautiful apartment felt like a blessing. There's amazing natural lighting and all the amenities you could ask for. The bedroom is spacious and the kitchen comes equipped with everything you could need. The location is perfect! Old Montreal is simply stunning and we discovered that even in the dead of Winter the city is still extremely walkable. I would highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!

My wife and I just spent five days at this apartment. It is absolutely ideal for a couple. The apartment is light and airy and in a perfect location to tour both old and new Montreal. The apartment is on the third floor (no elevator) of a lovely old building with big windows looking out over Place Jacques Cartier. There are numerous restaurants and bars in the area, from high end (Le Club Chasse et Peche) to a great microbrewery (Les 3 Brasseurs) that serves really good pub food. All these are within easy walking distance of the apartment. The Metro (subway) Champs de Mars is less than 10 minutes walk away. We used it several times to visit downtown Montreal and go out to the Atwater Market (fabulous place for cheese). Our visit took place in February when it was cold and snowy but the apartment was nice and warm and cozy. Look forward to visiting again in the summer as there are great walks along the St. Laurence river that we weren't able to do in the snow.

The apartment is better than expected. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was great - hot water and really good pressure (not always expected in an old building), the location was perfect - very close to two metro stations, restaurants, bars, sights. This was our first trip to Montreal and it was bitterly cold and snowy - we’ll be back in the summer and will stay again at this wonderful apartment. Cynthia and Michael were very accommodating and unobtrusive. As most have said, the walk up the stairs is not bad - would only be difficult if you have some sort of walking trouble. The views were great - especially with the snow! And the windows letting all of the sunlight in was perfect. We definitely recommend this apartment.

Beautiful, bright and clean and in a wonderful location for first timers to Montreal. Perfect location to walk to galleries, restaurants and to see the amazing architecture of old Montreal.
Booking process, check in, check out were all very efficient and Cynthia was very quick to respond on all questions. Loved it and hope to come again!! Laura October 2017

We couldn't have asked for a better location. This beautiful old building was tastefully renovated and decorated. The rooms were large with lots of windows. The kitchen was nicely stocked, but we never ate in as there are endless amazing restaurants within easy walking distance. Although we never met the hosts, they were prompt, courteous, and helpful with anything we needed. The only slight drawback was an uncomfortable sofa and side chair for relaxing. I would definitely stay here again! Montreal is well worth a visit!!

I don't think you'll find an apartment with a better location. Right in the heart of Rue Saint Paul with restaurants and the old town steps away.
The apartment is true to the pictures and very very spacious. All the home comforts you'll need. We enjoyed not having a TV and when we did want to catch the odd tennis match (US Open was playing) we simply watched on an iPad as the wireless was a good speed - after all we didn't go to Montreal to watch the TV.
Communication with the owners was swift and friendly and they were always helpful and timely - no worries with renting from these guys.
Yes the lack of a lift isn't ideal but going down is easy - you just have to put your head down and keep going when you're going up! It's not a deal breaker for the location and I would definitely stay there again.

This was a nice studio size apartment perfect for two people. Best location on Place Jacques Cartier in the middle of all activity. The decor is nicely done, appliances are new and work well.
There is lots of windows with great views. AC in both rooms works well but a bit noisy.
As others mentioned, there is no TV (I don't care). Wifi is excellent, just bring a little bluetooth speaker.
No elevator and it is about 60 steps up so you get a good daily work out.
Definitely would recommend.
