Hotel BO
Warm Hospitality and an Excellent Location, but a Disappointing Culinary Experience
BO Hotel Palma makes an excellent first impression. The location is superb, and the gentleman who welcomed me at check-in was exceptionally kind, attentive and genuinely helpful. His warm hospitality immediately made me feel welcome and deserves particular recognition.
The accommodation itself was pleasant. The bed was extremely comfortable, with six pillows, although only two had that lovely Egyptian cotton feel. The others felt noticeably synthetic. The bathroom was excellent, spacious and impeccably clean.
The towels, however, had clearly seen better days. One in particular was long overdue for replacement.
At €183 per night, excluding breakfast, one might reasonably expect greater attention to such details, even allowing for a last-minute reservation.
Unfortunately, the restaurant, whose enthusiastic reviews had been one of my principal reasons for choosing BO Hotel, proved to be the greatest disappointment.
I ordered an authentic carbonara, a deceptively simple Roman classic that requires precision, quality ingredients and an understanding of technique.
Barely four minutes later, it arrived.
One cannot help wondering how a freshly prepared carbonara could appear quite so quickly. The guanciale resembled crispy bacon sprinkled over the pasta, while the unusually yellow sauce lacked the balance and refinement one expects from this classic. An altogether mediocre interpretation.
Hoping the dessert might redeem the experience, I ordered the tiramisu. Before doing so, I specifically asked whether it was homemade. The waiter confidently assured me that it had been freshly prepared that morning.
Unfortunately, the dessert suggested otherwise.

The location is excellent, easy walk to everything in town. Front desk staff is outstanding with very warm and friendly service.
At $ 350 USD per night this hotel is overpriced. We supposedly booked a “Junior” suite. Not a suite by normal standards but a “corner” room. There is no shower enclosure so water sprays all over the bathroom floor. The rooftop hot tub is only lukewarm so not very enjoyable. The TV is small. Nothing provided in the room like complimentary bottled water. The standing ashtray at the front door is not a great way to welcome guests, especially when employees use it.
