We would have preferred to pay on arrival but payment was taken days before. we booked through booking.com but will book direct next time

Room was adequate, being a dog friendly room it did have a doggy smell but it didn’t bother us.
Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have patio doors to open at night so we could let the dog out.
Bathroom was clean shower was lovely and hot.
Biscuits and coffee machine were a nice touch.
There were no bins to put poo bags in although there were signs to clean up after your dog.
We only ate at the pub once and a service charge was added to the bill, we didn’t think that was necessary, as the menu was quite pricy.

Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Delicious breakfast and good coffee. Nespresso machine (with 4 coffee pods) and still plus sparkling water a bonus.
Bifold doors that opened onto a brick wall (only about 18 inches from the doors), which we didn’t know about. Very claustrophobic but fine for one night once curtains were drawn.

The pub and the food (especially breakfast) were lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable despite the heat of the room.
The room was disappointing in a dark corner of the grounds behind the kitchen and separate from the pub. The patio doors were 2 feet away from a high wall and we couldn’t open them to let in air as we have a dog and it could have escaped the property as it wasn’t enclosed. So it was unbearably hot despite having a fan. The loo hadn’t seen a brush in years. It wasn’t good. And the other bathroom fittings were grubby too. Such a shame as the team were lovely and the pub was great, with excellent food. Despite its ideal location in Wiltshire, so close to both the M4 and Avebury, we would not book again. Sorry folks!
