Lovely coastal setting, great stopover from Glasgow airport to begin our west coast road trip… comfortable bed and pillows.
Sadly, our room was to the rear of the property and adjacent to bin stores - the bin men arrived early and woke us up with the noise. Top tip would be to book a seafront room -there is a significant price premium , though may well be worth it!
Breakfast was good , although as daily porridge eaters we were baffled to be told that it wasn’t available on that day, as ‘Chef’ had run out of oats and was waiting for the delivery later ! ( a staple stock ingredient everywhere/ especially Scotland ?!) Granola and fruit was good ( help yourself buffet!), and my husbands smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious 😊. The hot food buffet breakfast also looked good with plenty of options 👍🏼

Breakfast was good . Staff were excellent throughout our stay.
Having requested (I think)a room on the ground floor or near a lift the room we were given could not have been more inconvenient. My wife has mobility issues and the location of our original room exacerbated her pain greatly. The second room was slightly better . I could nit recommend this hotel as being truly accessible. I also found the issue of getting alcoholic or some soft drinks rather confusing. The lack of one diet drink in the function suite bar but availability of the same drink a few steps away seemed perverse, similar issues were in place regarding alcoholic drinks and cocktails with the service of cocktails withdrawn altogether later in the night.

I liked the room, nice decor, very comfortable and the view was outstanding. Able to open up the windows felt I had my own balcony I was lucky with the weather.
This helped me as I didn't want to be social and also being a solo customer meant I could enjoy my stay in peace. I work full time and the care for my mum who has dementia in the evenings. I also have mobility issues at the moment, a little bit of time away and this suited me well.

I did not like that there was no fridge in the room. I couldn't buy fresh milk for my tea or coffee or keep any drinks cool. I wouldn't of mind a stocked fridge I would of paid. It was a treat for room service but food was expensive. Since there were no cafes/restaurants in walking distance. Meant you were a bit stuck.
I was disappointed with the breakfast, don't get me wrong there was enough on offer buffet wise, but it wasn't very nice and I left most of it on my plate. Felt it had been sitting for a long time. I know I could have ordered from the menu but it was nearly the same foods you could get from the buffet. I thought maybe pancakes or omelette? It put me off going the following morning.
Sorry I never reply or put reviews but this is a really nice hotel and I would stay again but I will be eating elsewhere. And just book a room rather than include breakfast.
