Nice big room and new ensuite. good location and very quiet room. The ensuite was new and spacious. The shower was easy to use and plenty of hot water. It is a really nice historical building that keeps improving each year we go back to visit family.
We had to ask reception 3 times for a second bath towel or set of, on the second night. We both asked at different times and were told yes we will send it up. It did not arrive that day nor that night when we rang reception and asked again. So we had to manage and one of us used just the hand towel. A simple request, the receptionist was a little uninterested in our request. However, we did get two full sets of towels on the third day and a glass for washing the teeth (only one mind) and a bath mat that day also, not before. We didn't have breakfast this time as we felt it was not good value from our previous stay at that hotel. We were looking for a twin room but there was only the double left at the price when we booked.

The room was nice but the bathroom was terrible. The evening meal was nice and the waitress made sure that all my food was ok. I'm coeliac. The receptionist on Saturday night was lovely too.
Lack of gluten free options at breakfast for cooked food. The bar area was more like a truck stop diner. Not enough comfy seats. The dining room looked like it needed a deep clean. Lots of dust on the wood panelling. If it was looked after properly then I think the hotel has potential. Unfortunately we won't be back for a further visit.

Hotel is really lovely and has some great features. The room itself was nice although a little tired in places. The bed was comfortable and the shower was really good.
Light up mirror in the bathroom didn't work so was a little dark around the sink area. The walls are super thin and we could hear everything from the other rooms around us - we were woken up around 6am by other guests getting ready to leave. The breakfast was very average. Hashbrowns were dry and the sausages were overcooked. We also found the restaurant staff a little bit frosty too.
