Not Good Avoid

Breakfast, and all the waiter's

Mirror light not working in bathroom, very difficult to shave. Loose tap.Bed too soft and lumpy. Room to small.Nothing was resolved despite my continued efforts.

Lovely brummie break

Nice and quiet hotel with cosy room and comfy bed. The setting and gardens are beautiful. The location is great not far from the motorway, so travel in any direction is easy. Didn’t sample the food unfortunately, but it certainly looked good.

The building itself is beautiful and the room was a good size, accessible for what we needed.

The fire alarm went off twice and the staff said this was due to the shower being used. The room was cold at night and the carpet and curtains stained.

Friendly, welcoming staff and decor

Wasn't too sure as I arrived and drove through the housing estate. Then arrived and welcomed by very helpful, cheerful receptionist even at 10pm. Gorgeous comfortable room and bed, very grand with wood panelling. Lovely breakfast. Perfect overnight stay and would like to come back some time.

Felt a little unsure as I arrived to a dark, quiet place late at night.

An Absolutely Beautiful Place to Stay

It is hard to put into words the feeling you get when you walk into Castle Bromwich; although modernised for comfort and safety, it still remains true to the stmosphere of the building. Check in was pleasant and we were able to get the accessible room we had booked, which was up a few steps but on the ground floor. For those in a wheelchair, there is a ramp available to get up these steps. The room itself was lovely, with tea and coffee making facilities; on suite bathroom with heated floor and wet room style shower with shower chair. It was all very clean and comfortable. We had a drink in the bar whilst staying, there was plenty of choice and although a touch above standard high street price - but you are staying in a castle after all. You have the option to pay at the bar or charge to room. Breakfast was pleasant and cooked fresh on ordering. There was pleny of choice of cereals, pastries which were beautuful, and breads and spreads. Check out was easy and quick. A lovely stay,

We didn't use the restaurant. It has a small menu with very few vegan/vegetarian options, and as I also have other dietary requirements we decieded to go elsewhere for our evening meal - so I am unable to comment on the actual quality of the food. In the morning there was no plant-based milks out, but I'm assuming you need to request this in advance or something. As our trip was a last minute thing; I didn't special request this, as most places I have stayed had this as standard now.

Wouldn’t pay more than 75 quid for the stay? Purely the fact the beer and food is very expensive! Also no local pubs rea

Good. Basic but good

House and its history are fascinating. Staff were excellent. Evening food was very good. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and tasty.

Facilities are a bit tired. Our room (Western) was OK but the bed was far too small. Bar prices are on the steep side.

I expected a better cleaner place . This needs updating carefully , more and better trained staff . It needs lot of TLC .

Almost the whole place needs TLC which must be very difficult in this economic climate . It could be turned into a beautiful place .

A wonderful visit

The quality of first impressions of a smile from reception, the room very comfortable, The wonderful historic building gave an instant invitation to return.

I'm 6 ft and had to bend knees to enable me to use the toilet. Brocken panels in the bedroom let the room down, and the rain shower head needed to have a joint shower to enable sanitary cleaning. Be advised lift only to 1st floor, so baggage needed to be hand held to reach floors above 1st floor.

A stay there is a real treat at any time of year. and so conveniently close to the m6 and M42

A beautiful, comfortable ancient house, well modernised but still with lots of character. in lovely grounds, with easy parking, good food and very friendly welcoming staff. we’d been allocated a room on the second floor but when the receptionist saw my husband and his walking sticks, she upgraded us to a lovely room in the main house, easily accessed by the lift. such good service!

Kept awake by a dog barking in a nearby room at intervals in the night Scrambled eggs burnt and had to be replaced. Hash browns overcooked and the bacon was chewy. Had better breakfasts at Premier Inns.

Bedside light didn't work shower room flooded very quickly heater didn't work in room Worst part was elderly male waiter who, when I asked him to take my gluten free bread to toast on the kitchen grill ( I'm diagnosed Coeliac) rather than be grilled on a toaster which was there in dining room for ordinary bread he pulled a face and told me " you can't catch gluten !" More staff training I think also I don't think the kitchen staff have been well enough trained re allergies I pointed out that the chips had a wheat coating on them and I was given a sachet of mustard which when I checked contained wheat not good enough !

Simply enchanting

One of the best experiences we’ve ever had in a hotel. This property is simply stunning, even more impressive in person than in the pictures. It’s an old castle with a history and renovated, but kept stylish interiors. It reminds me of a museum, but a very cozy one. Our room was perfectly warm in winter, the bed was delightfully soft and the bathroom pretty spacious. We didn’t spend much time there however, as the most impressive part is the lobby and dining area. Breakfast was amazing as well, I loved the variety of options. Starting with a classic English breakfast with great hash browns, finishing with fresh fruits that were juicy and had a lot of flavour even in march. I would love to come back to this hotel, preferably in summer to enjoy it’s beautiful surroundings.
