Location to centre was great while being in lovely setting and the staff were very good
Some parts a bit dated but overall a lovely hotel

The selection for breakfast was outstanding. The best that I have had in a long time. The cooked breakfast was cook to perfection and replenished quickly. ~The rooms were spacious, clean and have stunning views.
We stayed for dinner, service was quite slow, maybe staff shortages. Food was good. The dinning room although pleasant, I think a refurb might be in order to freshen the dinning room up. ~The public areas needs a bit of TLC. ie corridors and carpet. Just a small neg.

Good breakfast selection
The service in the restaurant in the evening was very slow. We had to wait quite a while to be asked for our drinks order. We also gave them the food at the same time then took about 20minutes for our drinks to arrive and then the food took about 50 minutes there was no communication with us regarding any delays.

Spa was good, a little old but all in good working order.
The food was awful. We booked dinner b&b to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were expecting the 3 course set menu. Instead we only had the option of a carvery or £25 per person from the bar menu. The carvery was shockingly bad, overcooked and lukewarm warm at best. Staff were good at dealing with this and offered us the bar menu as a substitution and were very accommodating. Not a 4* hotel dining experience!
