About this cottage rental
Located in Vilano Beach, this attractive cottage for $267 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This is a Cottage three doors from the beach with a nice view of the Ocean, especially from the Loft Bedroom. This Cottage is available for families to vacation. You may not however, use this Cottage as a "Spring Break" type "Party House" ! No drugs! Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted. Bothersome drunken behavior is not. Please be sure to read "House Rules" before booking. Alcohol consumption is prohibited on all Saint Johns County Beaches. All guest are required to sign a Short Term Rental Agreement and provide the Host with a copy of Government Issued Photo Identification which includes their home address. There are Security Cameras outside the Cottage on the four corners of the house and two cameras covering the front from North and South views. There are no cameras inside the Cottage. You will be renting the whole house which includes the ground floor bedroom and bath, the main floor (second floor) kitchen, livingroom, bedroom and bath, and the loft bedroom above. There is an electric Barbeque Grill, Table and Chairs to sit and relax when the Sun gets behind the building in the late afternoon / evenings. It's nice when there is a breeze. You will have the whole place to yourselves. Though this Cottage is only three doors from the beach, it is also walking distance to the Publix Grocery Store, the restaurants on Vilano Street, and just a short drive to downtown Historic Saint Augustine and Flagler Collage. If you haven't seen old city Saint Augustine, it's worth a visit. There are plenty of Restaurants, Cafes' and Ice Cream shops too. The architecture downtown is incredible. Park at the parking garage. ...Or just use Uber. Many people do. You can watch the waves breaking and listen as they pound the beach from the Kitchen / Livingroom or Loft Bedroom of this 1970's contemporary timber frame architecture home. This cottage is south of Vilano Street, so there's little if any through traffic. This is a quiet street. Go to the beach. Swim in the waves. But also walk south, over the stone jetty and down to the inlet along Porpoise Point (its a short walk). You never know what you may see in the sea. You could spend a week just experiencing the daily changing tidal environment at Porpoise Point. Children especially enjoy the smaller waves and tidal pools of both Vilano Beach and Porpoise Point Inlet at low tide. My wife and I walk and swim at the ocean and inlet every day when we are there. It's rare not to see fish or Porpoises. Occasionally a Sea Turtle. Some days we see just a few fish, other days a lot. You never know. A limit of 2 small dogs, 20 lbs. or less, is permitted. Guest are required to clean up after their pets. If you are traveling with dogs, have plastic bags to collect and dispose of their poop. You are required to pickup all poop here at the Cottage and fines for not picking up poop are enforced at the Beach. Please park in front on the concrete driveway as you pull in. Enter through the ground floor door on the left. The ground floor has one bedroom, one bath and a laundry. Up the stairs to the main level (second-floor), Kitchen / living room, main floor bedroom and bath, and a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Climb up the spiral steps to the loft bedroom to another great view of the ocean. Please note; The Spiral Staircase may be a hazard for little kids and Seniors. For this reason, this property may not be suitable for small children. They're your kids. Parental discretion is advised. Parking is provided on the driveway. 2 cars easily. If needed, there may be some additional parking available on nearby Loja Street. But don't try to park at the public parking lot on Anahma Street or Publix grocery store parking lots overnight, as no parking after 10:pm is enforced. The months of January, February and March are available for Guest who wish to rent all three months consecutively. If you would like to book all three months, okay. Go ahead and do it. But if try to book just a few weeks in the middle of Winter, you'll be disappointed. Guest who book all three months will have booking priority. Saint John's County permits a maximum of one rental event per week. You may stay the minimum or as long as you wish. But I am not allowed to rent the Cottage to more than one group per week. For example, I cannot rent to two parties who each stay only 3 nights in the same 7 days. Some of you will want just two nights and see a two night opening on the schedule, but if someone has already booked in that week you may be disappointed. Dave spies on you with his cameras. He chewed us out about dogs pooping even though he is pet friendly. We have never not cleaned up after our dogs before leaving....but he was watching us on camera's and then dictating our behavior.....we left with 5 nights to go as we are not interested in being spied on and baby sat..... you have been warned.....and all poop was cleaned up by us before leaving...as we always do

We had a great time, the owner was very helpful. The house was great with plenty of beach accessories. The only issue we encountered was ants which is to be expected. I do recommendI to update the living room furniture as it was not comfortable and upgrade the tv size as it was hard to see from the couch, but overall this was a beautiful home and would definitely recommend staying here.

My husband and I selected this rental for the week of July 4th and couldnt be more pleased with our experience! This home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, super close to the beach. The house is so clean and has a beautiful outdoor space with an incredible ocean view! When my husband and I weren't on the beach, we were out on the porch. Dave is an incredible host and is available for any questions you may have. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing beach stay. We hope to return next year!

We booked last minute for this family vacation, and we were so happy that this home was available. It really is even better in person! The proximity to the beach, Publix, restaurants, and downtown Saint Augustine is awesome. We have three small children (aged 10, 5, and 3), and the easy walk out to the beach was so convenient! The house is stocked with everything you need for the beach, and our kids thoroughly enjoyed making multiple trips to the beach each day we were there and boogie boarding.
The ocean view from the loft bedroom (and the second floor) is fantastic! The hammock on the second floor deck was so relaxing. The two beach bikes were also perfect for exploring around.
It was a nice, quiet location. LOVED it! We were impressed.

Best get away. We actually over packed for this stay because the house came with everything we needed for our beach stay. The house was clean and very roomy. Excluded beach tent, umbrellas, chairs, blankets, towels, wagon and toys. All we needed was personal hygiene stuff, clothes, and food. We are definitely returning next year. Really enjoys the closeness to the beach, pier and store. Oh, and the bikes are such a plus. Everyone enjoyed the bikes and touring the island area.

This was an excellent stay at Vilano Beach. Dave was an exceptional host. Everything was just as depicted and advertised. It was so close to the beach that we went there almost every day. All beach supplies were on hand. We definitely want to stay there again!

We came back for our second visit because this property is so wonderful! Quiet, relaxing, right by the beach, and very well-equipped. Our teens loved the freedom of walking alone to the beach and Publix and taking bike rides in the safe neighborhood. Highly recommend!!

Property is being improved and will eventually be top rated! Inside furniture needs upgrading and the Deck needs to be replaced. The TV in the Great Room is too small for such a large room. Great location and very clean.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this rental property! It had everything we could possibly need and was so close to the beach, we were all thrilled. The beach bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels were an added bonus that just made our vacation that much better! We LOVED it and hope to come back!

Perfect in every way
This is a wonderful house, two houses away from the beach, with a beautiful view in a wonderful family friendly environment. It was great for a beach time, time at the tide lagoon, great restaurants nearby, great to bike ride around neighborhood, and few minutes from historic Saint Augustine. The house had everything we needed and more. Dave, the owner, was a pleasure to work with, very accommodating. We will definitely be back!

The location is amazing. Just a few steps away from the beach, walking distance to the grocery store, and quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay very much. Equipped with everything you could need! Dave was wonderful to work with and communication was great.

Great place for a family gathering!
The location of this cottage was one of the best things about it. I’ve parked in beach parking lots that took longer to walk across than the walk to the very nice beach from the cottage. Quiet neighborhood. No hassle drive to get to downtown and very close. So easy that we just took Uber/Lyft/taxi most of the time, and a route the drivers said they rather go than most of the busier places. That means they were quick and averaged less than $10. So great. The cottage intself is nice and open, large bedrooms, practical kitchen, and a surprisingly spacious deck on the second floor. The owners and property manger were great too. They were always available and very quick to respond to any questions we had. Honestly, the cottage has everything you would want in a Florida rental home, and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely look to stay here again.
