Beautiful location which exceeded expectations. Grounds delightful, views from bedroom stunning. Staff very helpful, decor delightful.
Towels were not changed and towel rail didn't work so wet towels. Little things like no marmalade for breakfast, no milk in the room, cold coffee at breakfast. Food was good but expensive. £499 for three nights expensive but views were tremendous.

The location and views are stunning. Peaceful escapism and tranquillity. The staff are really lovely - friendly, professional, nothing's too much trouble. The food is very good and well presented. The room was very comfortable, spacious, light and airy and had an impressive panorama of the bay. Its a warm, welcoming, family owned and run independent hotel, not part of a chain and the staff commitment to making my stay enjoyable was impressive.
The decor and furnishings in the room and public landing areas are very dated. The main guest lounge has been updated with neutral decor and lovely homely country house furnishings which is great but the rest of the hotel needs significant investment as it doesn't appear to have been touched for forty years. It didn't in any way detract from my two night stay as everything is comfortable and clean and the level of investment needed on this scale is prohibitive for an independent, family-owned hotel. The food is very good but the prices are, in my opinion, too high for this part of Scotland. They are higher than the honeypots in the Highlands which get away with it because they can. A shame because I understand the rising costs but the prices still need to be competitive to make guests want to eat there.

Location is quiet and tranquil, off the beaten track. Views are stunning. Very friendly staff.
The room was not clean. Dust under furniture and in corners of room. Kitchenette in room but no plates or cutlery to use.
