L’accueil d’Andrea et son épouse qui étaient au petit soin avec nous et nous ont donné de bonnes adresses de restaurants et autres endroits à visiter.

We had an incredible stay at Andrea and Valeria’s b&b this week. The b&b itself is in a gorgeous remote location up the mountain, it is a bit further up from Stresa but never claims to be right by the town, so is part of the charm and experience. It contains endless thoughtful touches, with beautiful vintage furniture and character that makes it feel like you’re really staying in an Italian family home. Andrea and Valeria could not have been more helpful, kind and thoughtful right from the start, not only welcoming us into the home on arrival, but also doing their utmost to try to make our stay as homely as possible. They prepared a selection of homemade baked goods for the mornings and we got to eat it in the beautiful garden with their dog Olivia & a chance to get recommendations for the day from the host.
With a car, you can explore the beautiful surroundings including mountain hikes, biking, markets and more. If you wanted to go th Stresa - it is about 30min walk away which for us was fine, but the walk up is a bit steeper so would suggest you bring a car or get an Uber back if you want to head down - but equally you can spend the time enjoying the village in the mountains and the views!
Some of the reviews state the apartment is difficult to get to, or that it’s hard to park, which I don’t think was the case - there are parking spots nearby which the hosts helped us with and went above and beyond, and the accommodation is also easy to find. Rather, whilst this place never claims to be a 5* hotel, what you get is an authentic experience in a mountain village with hosts that could not be lovelier to make the stay perfect, and service that for us exceeds that of a 5* hotel!
