Quintessential La Loma Plaza, built in 1796, is an integral part of Taos history, landing you in the heart of the community. Look out your window at the quaint Capilla La Loma Chapel and the original plaza where the founders kept their livestock. The front entrance of this completely updated casita, has a private, adobe and latilla- fenced courtyard, mature xeriscaping and a covered portal. This sophisticated one bedroom floor plan features art by original Taos artists Ernest Martin Hennings, Joseph Fleck and Gustave Baumann among other art, Navajo textiles and Navajo WPA era hand carved furniture. It sits on solid wood planks, where your daily cares dissipate beneath hand carved vigas. The kitchen appliances are well appointed and complemented by an artistic tiled backsplash and the adjoining bathroom features an antique Talavera sink. From the dining room pass through French doors to outdoor living on the back courtyard, where you'll find more gardens, a large hot tub, outdoor seating and barbecue for grilling your meals. Just a thirty minute drive to world class Taos Ski Valley, an 8 minute walk to town center, extensive local mountain biking, hiking and fishing opportunities makes this an ideal location. What is not to love about this La Loma Plaza historic casita? Come see for yourself and become a part of the original soul of Taos. This property is next door neighbor with La Loma Chica, so if you are traveling with friends or family and both properties are available, rent them both and have your privacy while you are next door neighbors during your visit to Taos! Important Note: This property is a "no-pet allowed" short term rental and any sign of pets will result in forfeiting of your security deposit. This property is a 31 minimum day rental. Guest Access: Arriving from the South (Santa Fe): Address 124 La Loma From the South on Route 68 (Paseo Del Pueblo Sur): 1) Make a left on 240 (Camino De La Placita) at the light before La Cueva Cafe 2) At the next light make a left on Ranchitos Road 3) Just after the next light make a Right on La Loma Plaza 4)Pass the La Loma Inn (up the hill_ and drive up to the plaza. 5) Bare a slight Right once in the plaza toward 124 (just before the Chapel) 6) 124 La Loma is on the Left at the old wooden gate. The Neighborhood: La Loma Plaza is a 10 minute walk from this condo offering guests local shopping. The condo is a 35 minute drive to the Taos mountain for skiing, a 10 minute walk to the town of Taos, and easy access to hiking and biking trails. Other Things to Note: We can no longer accommodate early check in or late check out. We tried it and found it to be too disruptive to our operation. The locks, the cleaners and our maintenance personnel all work on an automated schedules based on our published check-in time and check out times. Sorry :( If there are any issues upon arrival or during your stay, guest is required to contact the host and give them the opportunity to address any issues before leaving a negative review or asking for a discounted stay.

My husband surprised me with a last-minute extended weekend get-away. I lucked out and found this gem last minute in Taos, NM. We loved it! Perfect location for sightseeing and walking Taos. Also, within driving distance to Angel Fire, and other ski resort areas. We did not ski, but we did enjoy the scenery! Husband and I are already discussing our return trip!

Good space for two people. Bed could be more comfortable. Always missing a simple memory foam in a rental. Well appointed though missing oven mitts. Hot tub cover needs a two person lift to put back on. All in all an easy walk to town and convenient location. Property manager very responsive on tv problems. Very easy check in/out procedures.
