If you want a peaceful, homely place to stay I would recommend mount pleasant country house.

Lovely location with a great woodland walk nearby. Easy to get to a bus to Dublin. Host Sean was great and showed me around lucan. A very peaceful, homely place to stay. Sean went above and beyond to help me when I had to get home for a family emergency. I will definitely return.

Worked well for the short duration we stayed, quick overnight ahead of an early morning flight.

Very different to accomodation we have stayed in the past. Host was friendly and chatted to us about the history of the property, the area, etc..

Shower was very poor, drain was blocked so after 4 of us having showers in succession we had to stand in about 6 inches of water. We had to share bunk beds with our kids which was a novelty, the site and area around the house is a work in progress so lots of work/construction in progress or stalled.

Disappointing

The person who greeted us was friendly and he was accommodating of our late arrival time.

We expected to stay in the house pictured. However we were in a side building. We only needed a place to stay for 5 hours. Arrived around midnight and left by 5:30am. The “cottage” was down a narrow alley on the side of the main house. It was relatively clean but very low quality with a poor (stale) odor.

A perfect place to stay with children; we had one week holliday here and enjoyed alot.

A sunny stay in a property with character.

Location is perfect. A house within a nice village with a beautiful land all around and at the same time easy and quick access to the motorways. Pedestrian access through the property land to the village was convenient. The friendly dog and the trampoline were two added bonuses. Wifi and TV worked well too.

With the description on the website we were expecting a private kitchen and it was a shared kitchen, a floor below our bedroom. There is no name to indicate the property but it isn't too difficult to work out its location.

Had a wonderful time staying at the beautiful Country house.

Beautiful house, set in a wonderfully picturesque garden close to Lucan. The room was very comfortable with a great bed and good shower/bath. Great having access to the shared kitchen which saved us some money not having to eat out every night. The host is also lovely and it is great to see the work being done on the outbuildings which will when done be a stunning addition.

This is a beautiful old house in good order but although this does not in any way impact the level of comfort is a little frayed around the edges. Wifi is ok and although much better than expected, not as quick as it could be.

Enjoyable, relaxing, homely. And memorable.

Very friendly and helpful. On the first day Sean gave us a lift to the bus stop we needed to use to travel to Dublin and show us the shortcut. Despite of being very busy, he found time to talk with us and share his knowledge of the country. Initial issues (sink in the bathroom draining slowly, heating needing adjusting) were dealt with immediately. The room and bathroom were clean. Small fridge in the room was very useful. In addition guests have access to equipped shared kitchen. The location was secure and very peaceful. We visited in February, but I can imagine what a delight the garden will be in the summer. The very well behaved dog Cullen provided my daughter with entertainment. Well placed to serve as a base for car trips into the country (major roads short drive away) and bus rides to the city (bus stop 15min walk). I would not hesitate to go back, it felt very homely! Thank you Sean!

Some tourist info brochures and maps, ideas for days out for the foyer would of been useful. The kitchen could of done with more attention/supervision - I completely appreciate it is difficult with shared space and building works in the yard. Some users forgot to clear their food away before leaving and leave the place clean and tidy behind themselves. The bins were often full and the kitchen sink in need of more frequent cleaning. However - on the positive side, the cleaning materials were there, so any bothered guest was able to get whatever to their own personal standard. I also believe that if we flagged up these observations something would be done immediately about it.

Awful

Nothing.

Nothing like the description or photos, completely run down with open electrical wires coming out of the ceiling, holes in the walls, unsafe staircase, awful bathroom and kitchen facilities. It was so bad we left and didn’t stay there.

I wouldn't recommend this place

Last minute booking and the location for my immediate needs was a good thing.

The fact the bedroom door only locked on the outside. The reading material in the room. The lack of interest from the host.

Perfect, for that price just amazing!

Host was really amazing, he is super nice guy and his dog is the sweetest dog ever. they were really open for everything, lovely.

Interesting country house.

Not to far from Dublin by car. Lucan is a very nice little village. Sean was very helpful and informative.

Very happy with this place, and would stay again, and happy to recommend.

I would say this was a 'quirky' place to stay, but we all loved it and felt very comfortable here. Spacious, comfortable and we felt very much at ease.

The bathroom is very small, but ok.

Will definitely return next time we're in the region

Sean made us feel exceptionally welcome . location close to shops , food etc . Marvellous building and outbuildings . The dog Cullen is very people friendly .

Signpost at the entrance would help as difficult to turn round if you miss it

You need to walk or have a car but you can get taxis and trains in to city are frequent cheap and clean
