This place has a great vibe. Beautiful pool area. Not every little detail is perfect, but it is pure Palm Springs.

Our favorite hotel in Palm Springs

Starting with service - this was excellent. I interacted with two employees in the lobby and one from cleaning staff and they were all great. My complaints are not a reflection of their service at all.
My room, on the other hand…
This is the Circus Circus of Palm Springs, I guess. The grounds are kitsch and cute but as soon as I walked into the musty room I instantly regretted my booking. This place sorely needs upgrades. The wall unit A/C cooled down only bathroom and dressing area for the entire first day. I had to leave it running for over 24 hours for it to impact the sleeping area. So sleeping the first night was… kind of gross.
The tv remote worked only half the time.
The toilet stopped flushing at one point so I opened up the tank to check on things and there was black mold inside. Mold on the bathroom floor edges, too.
And my goodness, the refrigerator cabinet looked as if a large dog gnawed on it for months.
Just…. Gross.

Nice Polynesian themed motel, reminiscent of the early 60s. Pool and hot tub are very well-maintained and the tiki bar is very cute. Food at the restaurant is very good.

The room was spacious and clean, but I had issues with the shower knob. Also the water didn’t stay at the desired temperature.

This is a mediocre place, neither good nor bad. The room had damage to the wall, and the bathroom threshold had dangerous loose screws that had to be carefully stepped over. The grounds are well maintained. I was surprised that the main swimming pool was heated in early April. There's no free water in the room and a sign that says "No Outside food or drinks are permitted".

Our stay was great and we would absolutely go back! Good location, nice pool and hot tub, The Reef bar is great, and the service at check in and out was great. The room itself I would say was overall alright, but the shower and sink both were not in the best condition, so that does bring my rating down just a bit.

Honestly I kinda feel like 1977 called to tell me my room was ready. It was very dated and the furniture run down.No outlets, interesting wall unit AC switch, drippy faucet and no extra blanket. That being said, it was clean, smelled nice, many hangers and was HUGE! The bar staff was fabulous and kind. The drinks and food were good. The staff was friendly. Front desk was nice. We couldn't swim because of rain.

First, the staff was AMAZING! Second, the room was spacious and clean. We booked a suite and it was perfect for our party size (4 adults). We visited the on-site bar (The Reef). It had a fun little vibe, but the drinks were ridiculously overpriced. I can't be too sure, but I think the housekeeper broke a glass in our room. We left and when we came back, I stepped on glass twice. I was walking around barefoot prior with no problem. Overall, our stay was nice for our quick little getaway.

What a great, kitchy place!! The water in the shower was tricky: hot water took more than 5 minutes to come in, then I had to be quick on my feet b/c it would change to cold without warning! I LOVE the pool and hot tub. I love the location, the restaurants and the beauty of the area!! Great place to have our big birthday bash!!

The bed was falling apart. There was smelly carpet on the floor with a giant black stain. My toilet wasn’t even balanced so every time I sat down it was sideways. The pool is great, but the workout room was terrible. I would never stay here again.

The hotel was in a good location but is very outdated. The walls are very thin I could hear the next door neighbors talking until 1 am. The shower was outdated with no hot water in the evening and no hot water in the morning. We would never come back and would never recommend this place to anyone.

The staffs are friendly and accommodating, but this hotel is quite old and it is more like a motel. It is at the end of town and far away from everything.

Pros: The pool and poolside bar seemed very enjoyable and people were having fun. Unfortunately, we were there only for a day with our little kiddo and couldn't take advantage of it. Location was only a short drive to downtown, so that's good.
Cons: Room was dated and could use an upgrade. The bed was too soft. $15 to have a microwave in the room is a no-no for me.
Verdict: This place is good for quick stopover. But may not be everyone's choice.

Overall a nice clean place. A bit old but they do what they can to freshen up the space. No funky smell given an old place. If you have a bad back, stay elsewhere...The mattress is too soft and out of shape.

We had so much fun staying at Caliente Tropics Hotel! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful during check-in. Highlights include: heated pool and large hot tub, Sancho's for dinner, and spacious deluxe king room. We always appreciate an in-room coffee maker and powerful updated shower. I couldn't get enough of the Tiki theme around the property - it made it all the more special and memorable.

Great place a little away from downtown. Three great restaurants on site, great rooms with comfy beds and necessary amenities. On site restaurant overlooking the pool was great! Staff was so nice and great about any ask!

Nice hotel for the price. Property and pool area was beautiful! Pool was nicely heated. The room we stayed in was very outdated and could definitely use an update on the carpet for sure. The hotel was still pricy for what it’s worth but lower than almost anything else in the area. Good for a quick 2 night stay in Palm Springs. Lots of parking and not to far from the main downtown area.

Without a car I was limited to taxi, Uber Lyft. I e no bus. Prob some restaurants around but it’s just a kind of bland area. Lots of motels. . And the service was nice but bed too soft for me. No access to streaming services on the television that I could find.

Hotel was adequate for our purpose. Cute bar. No elevator however which I didn’t notice when booking. This was a bit of an issue. Not particularly quiet due to motorcycles out on streets. Beds were great. Decor in rooms outdated but room was very clean.

Older hotel which was adequate for our needs. The only issue was lack of an elevator which with my husband’s mobility issues was a bit challenging. I did not notice this on hotel details. A bit noisy

Likes: Large two room suite at a fairly economical rate, and a convenient P.S. location. Our room was quiet. And the inn is only one block from Moorten Botanical Gardens.
Dislikes: a) First night they put us in a room near the busy main street after we had pre-arranged for a room away from the noisy street. They did appologize for making this mistake and we moved to a new room far away from the busy street; b) No EV chargers; c) No dining table in living room (there is plenty of space for one); d) The first room we were in had wallpaper peeling off walls in many locations (the 2nd room was painted, and in acceptable condition).
