Jesus and Miriam were fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful even offering to collect us from the train station when we arrived. The room was beautiful, large and quiet with a proper coffee machine and very welcome air conditioning. Bathroom was very large too which is a bonus. The hotel has a little terrace area which was lovely for sitting with a bottle of wine and slice of pizza on an evening when we were too tired to go out. The location is perfect - a few cafes, shops and restaurants if you don't want to venture into the old city but also just a 10 minute walk from Porta San Pietro into the historical centre. There is also a fridge in the room with plenty of water to purchase but also room to put your own things in.

Very friendly and helpful. Clean and comfortable. Fridge in room and good air-conditioning.
The shortest route in to the town was via steps over the railway line.
The main bathroom light goes out quite quickly unless you move near the sensor.

A delightful little hotel run by a lovely, friendly and interested couple. Tango Hotel is an easy and safe 10 minute walk from the railway station, and about the same to the Lucca city wall. The room and bathroom were generously proportioned and bright.
A few minutes walk away is an excellent, recommended eating place where I enjoyed breakfast capuccino and a slice of torta for 2 euros! (March 2026) I believe this place does excellent evening meals too.
I asked the couple who run the hotel for a scale to weigh my luggage and they were fabulous about organising that for me.
I'll definitely go back on my return to Lucca.
