Frokosten var veldig bra. Fantastisk hjemmebakt brød med det som hører til samt god kaffe. Å nyte et godt glass vin og en "ostefjøl" i disse flotte autentiske omgivelsene var helt topp.

This is probably my first 10/10 review in years!
When I first arrived, my immediate thought was that it looked like just another older building. However, I quickly realized how incredibly lucky we were to have chosen this place.
1) Rich History & Unique Character: The property was originally the summer estate of an American artist (William Henry Singer Jr.) and has been thoughtfully transformed into a historic hotel and museum. To protect the original wooden structures, guests are asked to remove their shoes at the main entrance and wear provided slippers—a charming rule that sets the tone for the stay.
2) Warm, Personal Hospitality: Every staff member here is remarkably kind, polite, and welcoming. When we accidentally went to the wrong entrance, they graciously guided us to the right spot. One of the staff gave us a full house tour, guiding us through the facilities while sharing the fascinating history of the building. Later on, as we were playing chess, they passed by and asked who was winning—it felt less like a hotel service and more like staying with family (which makes sense, as the staff belong to the same family!).
3) Impeccable Care & Attention to Detail: With only 9 rooms in total, the team is able to maintain an incredible standard of cleanliness. Our friends absolutely loved the bathtub setup. The breakfast buffet was continually refreshed with fantastic, fresh options—and nothing beats high-quality, freshly prepared food.
Knowing that this hotel only opens for 8 weeks during the summer before the staff return to their studies made our time here feel even more special and exclusive. I truly loved our stay at Singerheimen!
Not major issues, but worth highlighting for future travelers:
1. No Full Evening Dinner Service: There is no proper sit-down dinner option on-site, so you’ll need to plan meals accordingly.
2. Simple Latch Locks: The guest room and bathroom doors use simple hook-and-eye latches rather than modern electronic or key locks, fitting the historic nature of the building.
