The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub is well located for exploring the area, good food for an evening meal at the pub and the room which was separate to the pub was comfortable. Great cafe across the road for breakfast.
There was no WiFi in the room, the signal didn't stretch from the pub. The heating didn't appear to be working but staff gave us an electric heater for the room.
There wasn't a great signal on the TV but luckily we had a tablet with us and could download some things to watch when we were inside the pub on WiFi!
Bathroom was small and we were slightly disappointed that we didn't get clean mugs, glasses and top up of toiletries etc after our first night stay to see us for the second night stay.
None of this took anything away from the nice stay that we had. It's just a heads up so to know what to expect.

The bed was very comfortable and nearby to the room itself it was generally quiet as it was not above the pub area but next to the car park. I was very grateful for being moved after the first night to a room away from the main building over the pub to one more accessible on the ground floor and much quieter. The stay was dog friendly otherwise I would not have considered booking it.
I did not appreciate being told some lame excuse about the total lack of wifi in the room. It was stated as available with the booking but it was not accessible in my room. I arrived on the Saturday evening and was later told by the general manager that the storm that weekend had knocked out the wifi and it would not be able to be looked at until the Monday after I left just over a week later. The numerous reviews already provided however clearly show that this issue has been going on for months now and has never been addressed. Also the fire alarm sounded one night at gone 2 am and no member of staff was present when numerous guests were staying so the fire service were called out to investigate!!! When I had previously asked I had specifically been told that someone was staying over each night on the premises! I did not even receive an acceptable explanation or decent apology and certainly no partial refund for any inconvenience due to this issue or the total lack of wifi in the room. There was also no hot water available from the bathroom basin tap, again another point mentioned as an issue in previous reviews.
