Very impressive building. The room was very nice, large and comfy, with two big wardrobes available. Great location, easy acces to airports.
No buffet breakfast, only a la carte, on the expensive side.

After walking up the grand staircase and into the main lobby, you are immediately surrounded by stunning architecture, beautiful woodwork, elegant details, and a level of craftsmanship that is difficult to describe until you experience it in person. The entire space has a timeless, luxurious atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you have stepped into another era.
To the right of the lobby is a beautiful lounge area, complete with live music, which added even more to the elegance and charm of the experience. There are also two additional beautiful restaurants to choose from, each fitting perfectly with the character and sophistication of the hotel.
The architecture, design, woodwork, and attention to detail throughout the property are absolutely remarkable. The Fairmont Royal York has a presence that immediately makes you feel like royalty. The historical beauty of this hotel was, without question, one of the highlights of our stay.
We were traveling with a small child and a stroller, and one thing that surprised us about such a magnificent hotel was how difficult the main entrances were to navigate with a stroller—or, I would imagine, a wheelchair.
At the entrances we used, you are immediately faced with sets of stairs. The revolving doors are quite narrow and difficult to manage with both a person and a stroller, while the push-to-open doors are also narrow and surprisingly heavy when you are trying to hold onto a stroller with one hand.
Unfortunately, simply entering or exiting the hotel became more difficult than it should have been for a family traveling with a young child. I would imagine guests using wheelchairs or other mobility devices could face similar challenges.
The hotel does have doormen and bell staff who could certainly make the experience easier. However, during our four-day stay, out of approximately 20 times entering or leaving the hotel, we were only offered assistance three or four times. At times, some of the doormen seemed more focused on posing for photos with the limousines and maintaining the image of the position than paying attention to guests who could genuinely use a helping hand.
For a hotel of this caliber, I expected much better attention to accessibility and to families traveling with young children.
