Location. Free underground and street-level parking with separate entrances (although limited spots). A bus stop for 2 lines right in front of the hotel. Several restaurants, small grocery stores, and a laundromat within walking distance.
No microwave. The king-size bed in room 120 was so hard I had to request a change of room; I had to insist on this as the manager was telling me that all the beds are the same. My relatives in a separate room could not believe how hard my mattress was. Their two queen-size beds and the queen-size bed in the room I was moved into were softer and more comfortable.

This motel is in a great spot, quieter than a lot of SF districts, but easy to get around. The room was very light and spacious, the bed comfortable. It's an interesting check-in experience with a girl on a computer but the actual staff are pleasant and helpful. There are some great walks nearby, plenty of nature, a pleasant walk to Fisherman's wharf, good eateries nearby. The free parking was a bonus. The Buena Vista offers good value and we will definitely stay here again if we to back to San Francisco.

The location is perfect, and FREE parking , that's rare in SF. The view from the room was very nice. (305)
Noisy during the night, young guys coming in and out of rooms in the middle of the night. We called at 4am the reception to which he replied he would check on the security cameras. Moments later we called back as no change, he said he sees them going back to their rooms.. this lasted hours and nothing was done.
Check-in experience at 15h00 was terrible, only a machine could check us in, customers ahead of us had trouble, resulting in over 30 min wait.
Bed is not comfy, and blankets are basic to say the least.
Shower is crap, and there is NO SAFE in the room.
