The Biltmore is a splendid hotel, beautifully maintained with a lot of pictures illustrating the hotel's celebrity history.
Having checked in online, I expected to collect my keys and go to my room. Instead, I had to show my passport again, was charged 2 x $400 deposit that was not mentioned on my reservation, and also told that I had to pay $39 / room / night for the internet, leisure centre, $15 for food and $15 towards laundry (also not on our reservation). When I later queried the $39 charge, I was told that the first receptionist was wrong, and I would not have to pay it because I booked through Booking.com. So it was a nasty surprise when we checked out to find that we were again being asked to pay. The reception manager cancelled the charge. When we checked in the receptionist muddled our room keys, but we sorted that out ourselves. The smoke alarm batteries needed changing the first night, and this was done promptly. Unfortunately, by the time morning came it was cheeping again, so we asked to be changed to a different room. We were allowed to change to another room which over-looked Pershing Sq. There was a music festival on, and the music was so loud we couldn't sleep. We stayed for 4 nights and only got one good night's sleep. We booked the hotel primarily because we wanted somewhere to relax and sleep, but found it a stressful experience.

The Hotel had supposed to have been upgraded. I supposed the upgrades hadn't happened in the room we stayed !!
And I was charged for self parking TWICE (which happens). But when I was told twice by two separate people, one of the charges would be removed ($55) and three weeks later it hasn't??
I had to call my bank to work on having it removed!!
