Cheap, not to far out and I’d stay again

The stay was cheap, dry and secure.

The staff were quite loud when doing their cleaning rounds in the mornings.

Great budget stay in D.C. if you're willing to walk a bit from the Rosslyn station.

Very spacious room.

It's a little further away, but probably ideal if you need to park a car.

Okay functional hotel close to Iwo Jima statue, cemetery and bridge for Watergate hotel

Good basic hotel. GOOD SHOWER. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Plenty of floor space. 10 minutes casual stroll to huge statue of iconic moment in WW2 pacific theatre from which this hotel takes its name, and Arlington Cemetry another 5 minutes walk from there.

Room was NOT CLEANED daily during stay, is this not hotel practice anymore. BE AWARE OF SATNAV ERROR, address is really 1501 Fairfax Drive, not 1501 Arlington Blvd. Reception wasn't too helpful in resolving this on the phone. TV very old and small. NO COFFEE maker in room, or in reception most of the times I looked.

The price to stay here is significantly lower for a reason. As long as you understand that upfront then it’s ok. It’s a

I stayed here as a participant in the Army Ten Miler. Location was perfect in relation to the metro station.

I failed to realize there wasn’t a coffee machine in the room and nowhere to purchase coffee at 0530 on race morning. At check in the staff informed me they do not offer late check out which I found strange considering it did not look or sound like they were anywhere near booked. They did allow me to keep my vehicle parked there until I returned from my race though. The outlet in the bathroom need replacing as my plugs kept falling out.

Great for the budget.

The bed and linens were very comfortable. The room was large. The shower was hot. There was AC.

The fridge was quite noisy, but easily unplugged. Things were a bit run-down (wallpaper seams showing), but I would rather that than the price be higher.

Location

No toilet paper. Had to ask. Somewhat aged. No daily cleaning. Needed to ask firmly for one cleaning in a four day stay. Staff said cleaning had been “suspended”. No mention of “suspended” cleaning on multi day stays. For $160/day, should get at least a continental breakfast. No coffee in rooms. Have to go to office, where it is often drained dry. Suspicious large lump under carpet in front of bathroom.

Budget stay

Fairly close to the Metro. Housekeeping kindly gave us more shampoo (tiny bottle not enough for 3 women). front desk available late for checkin.

No blankets in room and front desk said ask HK, but housekeeping said they didn’t have any. phone didn’t work; nobody came to fix, after I mentioned it twice. Room didn’t have enough outlets.

They employed a super friendly staff, had clean sheets and comfy beds, and had good water pressure.

The building itself was OK, but the bed was super comfy, the staff were all very nice, and the location was prime! If you want a clean, comfortable place to sleep and aren't looking to hang out in the hotel this is definitely the spot for you. If you're looking to go on a vacation and hang out in a hotel probably not. It's absolutely ideal for tourists who are looking for a clean safe comfortable bed and nice shower, not for locals looking for a stay-cation.

It was ideal and the only thing I would change would be the availability to coffee.

The clerk at check-in was very helpful and friendly. The proximity to Metro was perfect as I used the train every day and felt safe walking to/from the station.

It's not luxury, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I never felt dirty or unsafe.

Genuinely great service throughout our stay. It was a cheap hotel, and we got what we paid for, but the front desk was always manned and throughout the stay they were honest about what to expect and perfectly courteous. I never felt surprised, which is what I worry the most about in cheaper hotels. Everything was very clean and everything worked well. Parking was free and it was an easy walk to the metro. No breakfast but the coffee was good and the water tasted better than any other water we had in DC, which was impressive. We left our jackets there on accident, and they not only kept the jackets but were extremely willing to work with us in getting them back through the mail.

The elevators were a bit slow, the bed wasn't heaven, and you could smell how hard the heater was working staying in the area in January, but nothing gross or remotely a deal breaker.

Budget option with drawbacks

Location is not far from public transport and in walking distance to Georgetown as well as the Arlington cemetery.

The staff were doing the bare minimum. We were not treated rudely, but there was no effort to make us feel welcome or comfortable. The hotel is old, the rooms are dark, the brown wallpaper is depressing and there was quite a bit of noise coming from the air conditioning system I suppose. Rosslyn itself is quite a dull neighborhood with modern office buildings, hotels and takeout fast food chains.
