We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Gardena! It's a beautiful hotel in a historic Venetian building, with gorgeous décor and so much character. Our room was lovely, the bed incredibly comfortable, and we were lucky enough to overlook a picturesque little canal. It really added to the Venetian experience!
Breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection of food, including eggs, and plenty of choice to start the day.
The location was fabulous! The Grand Canal was just a few steps away, and there were some wonderful restaurants nearby. But we loved the neighbourhood itself most. Just around the corner, we found quieter, authentic Venetian streets, charming little bars and beautiful canals without all the crowds and touristy shops. It was lovely to wander around and feel like we were experiencing the real Venice.
Hotel Gardena was everything we hoped for: comfortable, charming and in a wonderful location. We'd definitely stay here again!

It was very easy to get to from the train station and it was quiet for how close it was.
The ceiling had a leak which soaked up the rug right when you entered our room.
The breakfast was well below expectations and the patio/terrace was closed and not sure why - pretty disappointing since that is part of the photos that are on the website.
One of the staff at breakfast was very rude and unprofessional.
The shower pan is very slippery and we had to put a towel in it so that we did not slip. I am very surprised that elderly people are ok with this. Truly watch out for this. Perhaps it was just unique to our room.
