Nice facility but request a floor color other than black!

Location was convenient to train station and on the tram line which made traveling to sights easy. Breakfast was good and offered a variety.

We were on a Black floor interior room which meant the room color was mostly black. This made it very difficult to see, especially by the sink. There was a lighted make up mirror but the mirror over the sink was in shadow. Also an open overhead cupboard next to the sink was too deep (24”) so that we hit our head on the corner next to the sink several times. We are tall so perhaps shorter person may not have this issue. The room was well outfitted with nice amenities- including wine glasses. coffee & teas.

It has been a fabulous stay at the Highlander Hotel.

The location of this hotel is excellent, just a few 10 minutes walk to the Amsterdam Centraal station. The room, the hotel itself is immaculately clean and they change bed sheets every day. Toiletries are provided and replenished and fresh towels too. The members of staff are friendly, helpful, accommodating and informative as well as the cleaners. The breakfast that they offer is very good. You can have your eggs as fried, scrambled or as omelette depending on how you like it plus many more, hot or cold breakfast. There is a bar also if you fancy a drink in the evening. I would highly recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to booking again when we come back to this beautiful city of Amsterdam.

They don’t offer dinner in this hotel so you would have to find somewhere else to have it. They have a bar with some snacks or a pizza but no dinner menu.

It does not worth the price

It has friendly staff; There were some basic tech integrated in the room that does not have any actual usecase

I stayed inly one night. The location was bad, it is right in front of two piles of garbage at the other side of the street, Very very crowded area, the only positive thing is that it was close to the central station

Exceeded all expectations.

Amazing service with personnel that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome made this hotel one of the best I've ever stayed in. Rooms are lovely and unique, breakfast was great, and the hotel itself is in a great location for discovering the city.

Stay due to flight cancellation. Reasonably priced, comfortable clean room, helpful friendly staff.

A lovely quirky hotel, with friendly helpful staff. Booked late and last minute due to a flight cancellation, reasonably priced, comfortable clean room. The décor in the hallways fits the name of the hotel and is 'different' :) It is an easy walk from Central station, and all the city centre attractions.

The main road outside is currently being renovated (12/06/23). The 'Scottish' breakfast was an ok attempt but not as hearty as expected and the bacon (Euro thin style) was cold, though still tasty. Everything else was great and I wouldn't let any of these put me off staying again.

Only one elevator, sometimes had to wait a bit long to it. The room was a bit small, which didn’t really bothered us.

Heart of Amsterdam

perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. most touristic places were walking distance and the central train station is 8 minutes walk from here. staff was welcoming but rooms were a little on the smaller side

Nice hotel, funny lighting.

Nice room, comfy beds, great breakfast, close to the city center.

Managing the lamps in the room was like doing a intelligence test but failing. Staff promised to bring coffee to our room but never brought it so my mother was left without coffee to the birthday cake (no one, not the staff nor we got the coffee maker in our room to do its job).

Good location. Close to the Dam Square.

Our room was on the black floor (every floor has a color) and it was very dark in the room. Sometimes it is even hard to find your belongings in the room due to lack of lighting. We asked for a brighter room was there were no availability. There is a construction in front of the hotel. We constantly woke up with the sound of construction vehicles in the morning.

Good stay, great customer service :)

Me and my boyfriend spent 2 nights in this hotel. First of all, the hotel has a nice location, is clean, our room was nice, had a good bed, nice bathroom, coffee, tea, ... But our room had a little problem witht he bathroom ventilation, it never went off so had a constant noise, and as the bathroom is a part of the bedroom (not in another room), the noise was quite annoying to sleep :( But I have to say that I'm delighted with the reaction of the hotel about it. Being there on a weekend, no one could come to repair it but they suggested to change rooms. Unfortunatelly, being there for only 2 days we were quite busy and couldn't come back before a certain hour to change rooms, so we stayed in it. When we came back in the evening, they had left us a nice apology note, a small bottle a champagne and ear plugs, really nice touch of them :) The next day, at the check out, I had a conversation about it with the manager and considering the price of the bedroom and this quite important problem, they made a nice gesture in the price of the room to compensate. In conclusion, even though we have a misadventure, I would definitely come back there. Because except of it, everything was perfect and I really like that an establishment can react in this kind of situation. So go for it :)

Central location. Clean, modern room. Gorgeous bed. Very good breakfast. Helpful staff. Amsterdam is a beautiful city!

We had a double room. It was very tight! The glass shower was almost in the center of the room. You would want to be comfortable with your roommates seeing you naked! My children were in a triple room that was a little more comfortable in size.

great hotel shame about the work men outside at 6.18am

great hotel, great room, breakfast great, bed to fall to sleep in so comfy, thx

the work men outside, up at 6.00am with the noise, would of been a perfect hotel apart from the street work outside and not been told about that there was work going on, but would recommend the hotel 😀

the location is perfect.

unfortunately the room wasn’t cleaned daily. the room was very dark, and there was no space to put our belongings. we were in 3 and weren’t very comfortable.

Definately NOT a 4* Hotel !

The receptionists were very polite and helpfull. Breakfast was satisfying.

The cleanliness of the room insufficient. They didn't change our bath towels because they were in short supply. They didn;t add water in the fridge or coffe for the coffe machine . Many parts of the room had dust . The pillows next to the window were dirty , The duvet cover with a hole .
