It’s served it’s purpose. I would stay again. Look forward to seeing what the new owners do with it.

The setting. We were attending a wedding in city hall and deans at queens. Location was perfect and just off the hussle and bussle streets.

The property was very tired, rooms where I’m sure beautiful in their day. And I’m sure once the new owners get stuck in. But the rooms and corridors need some TLC.

Functional but nothing special

The breakfast was reasonable.

The area wasn’t great, surrounded by building sites and no local amenities. Our room wasn’t very clean. Duvet and pillows were poor quality and not very warm. Staff were not overly attentive.

Seen some bad reviews so didn't expect much.but got an upgraded room. Staff were great and friendly

Some parts of hotel a little run down. Staffsaid they were redecorating in the New year so will be great when finished

Will not be back fir 210 per night. Always stayed at clayton but wanted to try gasworks.

Breakfast itself was outstanding quality and was great, but really did not appreciate the experience the checking in for breakfast. I gave room number, was asked if I had booked breakfast to which I answered yes but the man replied with " I can log in and check in a bit" as if I wasn't believed. Why not have a list of pre booked breakfast rooms

Room was freezing cold and even after an hour of heat been on, cold air was still flying out. And yes, it was set to high temp. Then, room cleanliness was so poor as we found burst anniversary balloons and a card belonging to previous guests . No pods in coffee machine either so pointless.

Great food and service

Great food. Good lifts. Nice complimentary toiletries.Nice front outlook. Good bar and restaurant.

Stained carpets in rooms and corridors. Not as clean as it should be. Well worn furniture. No fridge in the rooms.

Comfy

walking distance to city centre and train station. Room was a great size and reception staff were very helpful. Super comfy bed

No regular tea in the room, they had camomile, earl grey and green teas though.

Great

Lovely comfy room, but the shower a bit grubby, very clean, but shower screen seal old, breakfast great, would be nice to not have to order fried eggs, just have a few already out, and the toaster needs replaced, tried twice, bread terribly burnt, staff tried too, but no luck, ended up taking a mini baguette instead - not complaint, just feedback, really enjoyed my stay - staff were fantastic

Good value so would consider staying again.

Good sized room and decent view. Staff were excellent and food was lovely.

Carpet had a large stain which hadn’t been cleaned very well.

Good budget hotel

Nice hotel, reasonably priced and within walking distance to central part of the City. Nice little bar downstairs to grab a quiet drink and feed.

Just a little bit outdated and key card to enter the room was very moody.

3/10 stay, definitely won’t be back

the staff was kind

the carpets were dirty, the drain in the shower was clogged and there were stains in the bath, the tv casting didn’t work and when I asked for assistance I was giving a phone number to ring that wasted my time and international minutes then hung up after 20 mins of trying to communicate the issue

Room and facilities not what they should have been. Aircon did not work. No extra bedding or pillows. Ceiling tiles missing. Exposed power/electrical compartment. Dirty bathroom bin A very rude member of staff on reception Hotel far too over priced Would not stay again

underwhelming

Quiet room, when you close your door there are no intrusive noises from outside

Unsafe electrics. I itemized these for the front desk but these included unsecured faceplates, poor wiring, faulty connections on the lamps, inaccessible sockets (unsafe) and a lack of EAI/ PAT stickers - testing would have revealed the faults; observation would have revealed the basic problems.

The bathrooms were not cleaned properly, shower drainage was not draining properly, the cups left in the room were not clean.

When walking round bedroom in bare feet almost stood on a large piece of broken glass also small pieces of shattered glass on floor had to go to reception ask for room to be hoovered again polite lady on reception said would be done straight away we were heading into town so this was done while we were out rooms tired and in need off updating

Great value for money

Very comfortable bed and plenty of space in the bedroom. The food was lovely. Had dinner and breakfast here. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Free parking at the weekend.

Very relaxing stay prior to attending a wedding.

Excellent hotel with very welcoming staff and comfortable beds. Breakfast and dinner very good. It was ideally situated close to the church for the family wedding. When I searched for a hotel in the city I didn’t think I would find one with a car park. This was definitely a bonus. I will recommend it to family and friends.
