Un vero soggiorno scozzese

Soggiorno magnifico. Hotel immerso nel verde del campus universitario, lo staff è meraviglioso e le stanze sono pulite e ben arredate. Non è molto centrale ma ciò va a beneficio della quiete.

Very enjoyable,

The room was very spacious and clean, the bathroom was very big and modern, also very clean. The location of the hotel was very central to what we needed and the staff were lovely and very friendly/helpful

The parking was a bit difficult as there seems to be a limited amount of spaces in the nearby lot, however staff were very helpful in informing us where we could park and with providing a parking permit for the night within the hotel grounds. We did have a little bit of a walk from the car park to the hotel but it wasn't a massive deal as we were still within a good range of the hotel

Great place to stay.

The location was very convenient for us as we were visiting the University. It is in a quiet location. The restaurant was very nice. The staff in reception and the restaurant were very helpful and nice and solved all our requests: taxi, kept the luggage for the day, allergies… the wifi was good both for breakfast and dinner. It felt quite distinguished to my family. The decoration was good. The room was not very spacious but big enough for us.

Despite being a little way out of town, we would not hesitate to book The Scholar on our next visit!

Our room was super spacious with a huge bed which was extremely comfortable with fabulous pillows (& we are normally so fussy!) We had a light meal in the bar which was very good value for money and delicious. The stand out feature has to be the friendliness of the staff with their, 'nothing is too much trouble,' attitude.

Fantastisch gelegen hotel in rustige buurt op 30 minuten lopen van centrum Edinburgh!

Super goede locatie met gratis parkeerplaats oor onze auto. Zeer gastvrij, ook naar onze hond toe. Ruime kamer, heel goed schoon en goed bed. Zeer vriendelijk personeel !

Quiet and peaceful, friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms

Very quiet, comfortable and clean. Lovely and helpful staff. The location feels safe and peaceful, within walking distance to the old town centre. Very pleased with our stay and would warmly recommend.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and in an excellent location to visit the city.

The staff at breakfast were attentive, friendly and helpful. Cheryl was most welcoming and her service was excellent.

A wider range of meals in the bar.

Amazing staff

Everything. This was emergency accommodation after husband was rushed into hospital. The staff were amazing from the very start. They have been exceptional in every way, given I've had to extend my stay due to the unknown circumstances I'm facing daily. I'm still here as I write this review, day 4. And I feel so safe here. The hotel was spotless, the staff amazing, food is delicious, the grounds are stunning and it's easy to access the city.

Staff were very helpful. Great breakfast

Outside looked like a hall of residence. Inside like a premier Inn. You couldn't walk round the end of the bed.£240 per night was very high but that's edinburgh for you

Excellent value for money

Value for money being close to city centre

3 person room, 3rd bed was a sofa bed, it probably mentioned on booking so maybe my fault, but not the comfiest sofa bed

Pleasant clean and comfortable

Bathroom showers very good. Bed comfortable. Plenty of cushions.

No toiletries provided or slippers. Needed shower cap and tooth paste none provided

Very pleasant stay in quiet, convenient, location.

Good location, staff helpful - kindly changed our room to brighter and larger first floor room. Good breakfast.

Enjoyable and would use again

Staff attitude and helpfulness. Spacious room. Good location.

Room on the ground floor facing the entrance. Curtains had to be kept closed for privacy which in turn, meant the room was very dark. Using the hairdryer, there was no mirror close enough to see in.

Amazing hotel and great value for money

The staff were excellent, very kind and attentive. Spotlessly clean and the food was amazing! Great value for money!

Something to note: the property is a half an hour walk from the city centre /15 mins on a bus

A nice hotel.

Clean, comfy. Friendly staff.

The lighting. Wasn't great when putting on make up as lights weren't near the mirrors. The safe didn't work either, despite following the instructions a few times.

Very cosy hotel near the city centre

The staff is super nice and helpful. The rooms are very warm as well as the toilet. Btw toilet is very good. You can park your car for free. Very clean and very good breakfast. It is not in the city center but you are there in a 25 min walk.

Exceptional

Super friendly staff and clean and complete room. I really enjoyed my stay at the Scholar. The hotel is located next to the beautiful nature area of Edinburgh. Walking to the city center took around 30 minutes, a perfect walk.
