First trip to Colombo

Rooms were very comfortable. Food was delicious. Travel desk did a wonderful job and handled our tours very well. Overall a good hotel to stay.

Room service and cleaning where we had to ask for towels. Being a five star hotel we expected a bit more of such service.

Amazing Place to stay in Colombo

The breakfast was good and so was chinese at Golden Dragon and YUMI.

there was wi fi issue in the room initially but was corrected by tech team

Taj always delivers as expected

The experience of stay in this hotel was just absolutely amazing! Everything was just so organised and systematic that it almost felt like more than a five star hotel. Here are some things that I really liked about my stay : 1) right from the entrance of the hotel to my room everything was extremely clean and the atmosphere smelled really pleasant. 2) another thing that I really liked was how the room service read and understood the way I was staying, they read which pillows I preferred so the next time I enter the room the pillow was exactly where I like it kept and the one that I use for sleeping. 3) the staff was really approachable and friendly. I didn’t meet even one staff member who spoke with me without smiling. 4) any requests that I made in the room was immediately attended to without me waiting for even five minutes. In the end, I would really recommend staying staying at this hotel because as the thing goes “Taj always delivers”

Luxury hotel opposite Galle Face Green

Club room overlooking Galle Face Green with business club room-continental breakfast served, all day coffee & tea & evening drinks & snacks. Large room with large desk & lounge, cool, dark bedroom with excellent bedding. Lush bathroom with great bath. Fabulous breakfast served in the downstairs restaurant. Very helpful staff & particularly the concierge. Walk to many of the sites. Large pool & good sunlounges. Very late flight & no problems getting a late checkout (4pm) but maybe because we were lucky to be there on a quiet week.

Looking tired & in need of an upgrade. No compendium in the room so had to wander around & guess what the facilities were & weren’t informed on checkin what was available at the hotel.

Historical charm with modern touch

Breakfast yummy with lots of variety, rooms spacious and great mattress. Hubby said pool was great and staff professional and friendly. Hotel spotless! Casual meeting lobby area had nice cakes with afternoon tea (extra cost). Lounge was great for reading newspaper in quiet setting and perfect for pre drinks with our local friends who we were able to invite. His drinks were extra but this is fair and usual Lounge policy.

The Lounge doesn’t offer snacks/light meals during the day which seemed to surprise many guests paying for the lounge access privilege and very unusual.

Excellent location, super friendly staff

Breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly abd helpful. Food variety at breakfast could have been better.

Breakfast area a bit cluttered. Quality and variety at breakfast needs improving. Lights in bathroom kept flickering throughout our stay.

I highly recommend !!!

Everything was perfect. Personel was fantastic. Generally people form Sri Lanka are great people. Rooms are amazing. I had one problem with my room, and they changed room for me. The hotel is very well located. Near to the hotel is big shopping mall. The hotel is in very nice area. Breakfast was fantastic. Next time for sure I will choose the same hotel !!!

Superb

Room was fabulous.... and so was the view from the 6th floor

Nothing really. As I was returning after about 2 weeks everything was s expected which was excellent. I enjoyed the welcome I received at the Club. Both in the evening and also for a quick breakfast before I traveled to the airport.

Room Service, Housekeeping was exceptional. In-room dining food was amazing. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Taj has such a great reputation, and the service lived up to it. Honorable Staff mentions - Dumith Nonis(Helped us and packed breakfast for early checkout) Anuradha(The spa service was very relaxing, well worth the money) Dinusha(Greeted us with a warm welcome, and was very helpful with all our questions throughout our stay) In short, everything was Perfect.

Very warm welcome, friendly staff Room was excellent . Breakfast buffet very good, Restaurant for evening meal excellent again. Concierge very helpful with booking my train ticket. As was the reception staff who exchanged some money for me Hotel location and sea views

Exceptional

Our week long stay at the Taj Samundra was nothing short of being exceptional. From the overall quality of the food to the comfort of the rooms everything was top notch. A special thanks to the team at "Porta of Call Restaurant" along with Dilhara, Gayan, Dias, Dileka, Mr Nasitha, Mr Nilanka and Karishma. The wonderful team made us feel really welcomed and went over and above to make our stay as memorable as possible.

The overall safety OUTSIDE the hotel and along the Galle Face Stretch was not very safe specially for females. This is upsetting for the guests and the hotel should look towards discussing with local authorities as to how more safety measures can be implemented and put into place.
