I had a very good time at Bambusa Resort. The pool is very nice, and I cannot confirm the complaints I read in some of the reviews. The resort is surrounded by nature, which makes for a beautiful and peaceful stay. Several good restaurants and shops are within walking or cycling distance, and Ong Lang Beach can be reached within about five minutes by bicycle.
If you book the resort during the rainy season, keep in mind that the waves on this side of the coast can be quite high. We visited the beach but were not allowed to swim. Nevertheless, I would absolutely recommend this hotel even during the rainy season, as it is a great location for exploring the island without having to drive too far. Scooters are also available for rent and were in good condition.
I had a very spacious bungalow with a very comfortable bed and hot water. My bungalow was located behind the reception area, which made it particularly quiet. If you would like a nice view of the pool from your balcony, I recommend asking for an upstairs room.
The manager is also super nice and gave me some wonderful recommendations for trips and things to do on the island. Thank you so much for the great stay!

everyone was fantastic and helpful. Breakfast and pool was superb. I totally recommend people who want a rustic and laid down holiday to stay here.
I would be good if the cupboards and furniture are cleaned to remove the dust for those with allergies. Otherwise 100% super good!

Mr. Anh was so helpful and proactive; he made sure that all our needs were addressed. He even gave us a quick synopsis of recommendations for activities and places to visit.
The rooms were very spacious and the resort accommodated adding a crib for our 10 months old baby.
The swimming pool was really nice and refreshing. The Koi ponds were one of the best features for our kid; especially since the staff let my son feed the fishes with him.
The resort is about 10-15 mins walk from the beach, which was really convenient, but also the resort has specific schedule for a buggy to drop you and pick you up from the beach. In addition, the resort provides free bicycle to use (which we didn't end up doing so), but that option is really helpful for exploring the island or at least the vicinity of the resort.
The restaurant only opens for breakfast. We had to figure out what to do for lunch and dinner.
The breakfast was really delicious but limited options.

Surrounded by nature.
Central location if you want to visit the whole island, ie starfish beach, grand world and sunset town.
The rooms were quite dated and worn. Floors had some holes in it. Wasn’t the cleanest hotel room we’ve been to in Southeast Asia. Found bed bugs on our last day which was disturbing, if we had found it earlier we would have left.
The breakfast is beyond poor. Not sure how they are serving the food, SMALL selection and poor quality.
Didn’t use the pool as not sure if it’s cleaned regularly.
The guy at the reception was nice and the moped rental price is good.
