The living room begs for relaxing evenings spent around the fireplace reading a good book while sipping wine or simply watching a great movie while the kids play. The spacious and fully equipped kitchen allows for the cooking of meals and easily serves four at the counter and six at table. The basement is always a kid’s favorite treat. Head downstairs to the kids space that offers a sectional sofa with a flat screen TV, a bar table with four chairs for games and puzzles, a full bath and a bedroom with a bunk bed and a twin bed. The sectional folds out converting into additional sleeping space for bedtime. OUTDOOR GATHERING SPACE Enjoy the summer evenings on the screened in porch on the rocking chairs or sit around the fire pit on cooler nights and listen to the kids playing on the nearby playground. PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED Professionally managed means peace of mind during your stay. Front desk associates, housekeeping and maintenance staff are nearby should you need anything during your stay. It’s your vacation, we are here to ensure you enjoy it. RESORT AMENITIES AND INFO * indicates a seasonal amenity. 4ft heated pool*, toddler pool, basketball court*, tennis court, bocce ball court, shuffleboard, Sandcastle playground, putting green, paddle boarding and kayaking*, catch and release fishing. Parking Passes ($5 each) and Wristbands ($15 each) are required for all guests ages 4 and up mid-May through September. House was nice, clean and good for us. Staff was extremely professional, and accommodating. Refrigerator was not working first night, so they responded quickly to that issue. Loved the pool, lake, golf carts, playground - everything was nice and convenient to get to for our family. Only issue was garbage pick up (lack of it - from week before and our week - a city issue but one that needs to be addressed).

The house was very nice and clean! We loved the location to the beach, the pool and the overall vacation feel of the neighborhood. We truly had a wonderful time.
This house needs to have their screen door fixed for the screened in front porch as a ton of bugs get in bc of the rip in the screen. There were also lots of fruit flies inside the house that we could not contain. They were there as we arrived.
Finally, the biggest disappointment was the golf cart didn't work. We did tell management and they said they would look at it. They never followed up and we kept trying the golf cart and it wouldn't turn on. When I checked out and told them the golf cart never worked for us, the manager claimed she drove it herself and it was fine. I find that hard to believe as it was in the same exact position we left it.
Overall, I gave my stay 4 stars. It's a great neighborhood and location. House was worth it!

My family, including three boys ages 7,6,3, and their grandparents rented Black Dog for a week. We had such a great. The home is so lovely and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool and short golf cart ride to the beach daily. This was our second year back and we plan in making it an annual vacation.

The property is relatively new and beautifully decorated. It was clean and well maintained. We had terrible weather the whole week but had a great time staying around the house. A complaint has nothing to do with the owners but with the previous people that stayed there that left dirty mugs with food in the upside down in the pantry. That was terrible. It would have also been good to have some dishwashing soap and soap for a couple of clothes loads. Not too much but enough to get us started for the week.

Once again we had a memorable trip to Beachwalk. This was our 3rd family vacation spent in Michigan City each one in a different house. Black Dog was perfect for our needs this summer as we came with a smaller group. The house was perfect, well maintained and we loved the screened in porch. The house had more than enough towels, bedding, soap, etc for everyone at the house. Our one disappointment was some of the cleanliness upon arrival. (The coffee pot still had coffee in it and the washing machine was full of dirty linens). Parking two cars in the front is bit tight due to an electrical box especially if you have a golf cart (they should make a parking spot on side house for the golf cart). The resort itself is great although I agree with other reviews who mentioned that with the rapid growth of the resort it might be time to start looking at additional amenities (another pool, courts, etc). All in all another fun week at Beachwalk and we would recommend Black Dog to anyone.

Great little Midwest escape
We spent the week with our family of 5 (3 boys ages 6,5,2) and my parents. We enjoyed the beautiful beach of Lake Michigan, early morning coffee on the quaint screen porch, and evenings sitting around the fireplace or back on the porch! The golf carts were so fun to ride around on, the staff was helpful, and our cottage was adorable. Never knew this gem existed so close to St Louis and we cannot wait to come back!!

My family rented several homes in the Beachwalk Resort. We are a large group that wanted a cozy place to spend Thanksgiving. Black Dog was perfect for some of the spill over that didn't want to stay in the madness of a the "big house." Black Dog is adorable and has a great layout. For us, it was absolutely perfect.

GREAT Fall Break Getaway!
With 4 adults and 4 teenagers-this property was perfect for our Fall Break getaway! The area in the basement was perfect for the kids. We loved having the golf cart so we could really check out the community and go to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked, the porch was fantastic for relaxing, and we played a lot of games at the kitchen table. Wish we could have stayed longer-it was hard to leave!

Our family has been coming to Beachwalk for almost 20 years - we have a family reunion every other year and rent between four and five houses. We have always been very pleased and while we had a great time this year, we definitely see that a great deal of building has gone on but the facilities are not being upgraded to accommodate the greater population. Beachwalk needs another tennis court, another pool and the boardwalk to the beach needs to be worked on. This is a good resort community that needs some development to keep up with it’s growth. Come on, Beachwalk get with it!

This was a much needed peaceful time of rest and bonding for me and the ladies from our ministry . We love how nice everyone was from the office to surrounding areas. The home was so clean and everything we need was there. We were comfortable immediately. The outlets was a plus.
