Tres bien placé en plein coeur de Lille . Chambre petite mais fonctionnelle avec un balcon , tres bien insonorisée . personnel accueillant.
Nous avions demandé deux lits doubles car nous partagions une chambre - vu le tarif pratiqué un soir de match de la coupe du monde de Rugby ! La taille des lits est ridicule, des lits en 90 et encore ...nous avons à peine pu les séparer car nous touchions les murs de la chambre , vraiment à ce tarif là c'est très limite. A déconseiller donc sauf en single ou en couple.

The staff was wonderful; very helpful; accommodating and knowledgeable. The rooms were comfortable and I would have liked another pillow but overall just fine.
It was a very nice hotel and I would have to be truly grumpy to come up with complaints. Lille was a mess with construction (roads, etc.) and it made getting around interesting.

The location was excellent. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The building has an impressive exterior and entrance foyer.
The room was very comfortable and clean but could do with a face-lift.

1. Excellent, friendly greeting on arrival.
2. The location for a first-time visitor to Lille could hardly have been better.
3. Room was comfy and clean and had very witty and colourful murals, even on the shower screen!
4. Enjoyed the access to the balcony attached to the room
I was unhappy that my credit card had been debited for a sum of £158.13 with no explanation. I only saw this on my return home when I checked my bank statement. I called the hotel reception who tried to be helpful and provided some explanation. Then mysteriously, the originally debited amount morphed into £75, but still showed as a payment to the Mercure. Maybe this will be resolved, but it was an unsatisfactory postscript to a nice stay.
One other thing was that we thought that the price for breakfast as excessive - better value could be had at nearby cafes.

The coffee and water machine are great, but bring your own bottle! The staff is friendly most of the time.
Strong smell all over the hotel like something bad in the kitchen. Tiny room. Not flexible cleaning.

the room is too tight. to get in to the bathroom you open some kind of glass-doors that are touching the bed.

nice entrance area - close to cheap parking and centre of town- very clean.
nothing although at breakfast the coffee machine difficult to use and ended up helping other guests to use it.

-The face mirror in the bathroom is on the side without lighting. Completely useless
