The really good things about this property were that it had secure parking and was within walking distance of the walled centre of Lucca. The breakfast was substantial. We were just here for one night on our way further south so the early check in time of 14.00 was brilliant as it meant we had more time to wander around Lucca before sitting down for an evening meal. We had booked a table in the Ampitheatre centre, which was a mistake for us. It was crowded, noisy and with hustlers at almost every restaurant trying to get your custom. We would have been much happier at one of the ristorante tucked down a side street. There were plenty of petrol stations on the way out towards the autostrada. If we were to return to Lucca we would definitely stay here again.
Although the breakfast was a buffet presentation, it wasn’t a help yourself. You told the host what you wanted and he plated it up and brought it to your table. I can understand why he did this as access to the buffet was limited and tables were scattered around the property in a way that made carrying your selection a bit difficult, although the table placings were all nice places to sit. It meant that selecting one’s breakfast wasn’t a casual perusal, but rather a selection under a bit of pressure.

The room was very clean, comfortable and well supplied.. Luca gave us some great ideas for sightseeing and went out of his way to help us during our stay. The best place we have stayed at in Italy.
