Efficient friendly service in the bar, restaurant and at breakfast. Enjoyed sampling a medieval recipe. The building is full of character.
Poor sound insulation in stable block where our room was located. Not a negative as such but be aware that the property is reached through a maze of country lanes (with passing places) only wide enough for one vehicle.

Friendly, great location for the concert
In the heat wave there was a small window in the room and a small fan. We absolutely melted during the night. Would have been better to have more tower fans or had the option to move to a large room with a breeze through the windows.
Breakfast we never got asked if we wanted juice, atmosphere was weird at breakfast. Breakfast its self was lovely full English.

Lovely old inn Nice welcome The young lady in the bar was very helpful advising us about our visit to nearby Powderham castle concert Very comfortable bedroom
On arrival we we asked to fill in a form for the next days breakfast as the chap was by himself to prepare. Breakfast was served between 8:30 to 9: 30 The following morning at 9: 10 while walking down the stairs l was volubly berated for being late by a staff member in a very rude manner! It wasn’t made clear breakfast was booked for the same time each morning I took exception to being treated in this way and my stay was spoiled to being spoken to in such a rude way .
