Good location in the heart of Sandakan and near the water front, safe area, free breakfast, gym (weights), good showers once you figure out how to properly turn on. Good for a night or two if you want to see a bit of the city.
There was construction when we were there, assuming it was next door, which was very loud until 11pm-ish (not good for an early morning start!).

Cozy room with AC. It had a shower but toilet to share. We loved the terrace and sea views. Really well located!
We had to share the toilet which we didn’t expect but rest was fine. Can get loud in the night (some karaoke action was going on at a bar downstairs) so bring your earplugs!

Excellent location and very friendly staff that can help you arrange tours! Free tea, coffee, and toast for breakfast!
The dorm and bathroom were dirty and there was a terrible smell in both. Only the bottom bunk beds have curtains. Pillows and beds are extremely hard!!! I had to roll up my towel and use that as a pillow.
