It was very quirky in nature but that was what I loved. I loved how Catarina and Pedro went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Ambiance and decor was outstanding. Bed was comfortable and with good quality linens.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection was very good. Unfortunately the fresh baked goods were only delivered at 8:00 AM so it was a rather late breakfast. I missed fresh vegetables on the buffet table like tomatoes, cucumbers or a few lettuce leaves that would complement cold cuts and cheese selection.
Not the property’s fault, but noise level outside at night (all night) was so overwhelming that even the double windows and provided ear plugs did not help. I could not sleep for several nights until I decided to take Ambien. While nice to visit and very beautiful, the neighborhood is not suitable for anyone other than a college age, party starved, nocturnal animal. The hotel was very attractive but a bit “ form over function”. I like ambient lighting but would love to have adequate light in the room. Packing and selecting dark colored clothes required walking up to the window with each item to make sure what it was. Bedside lamps also did not provide enough light for reading and side tables were too far from the bed. I moved mine closer but the housekeeping staff would move it back each time. TV was placed in an awkward spot, partially obstructed by a large leather sofa at the foot of the bed and angled towards two leather chairs at the other end of the room. I had to remove the back rests from sofa and move the TV in order to watch it from bed. The room had a huge “living room space” and a guest bathroom in addition to master bath but no bathtub which would be great to soak and relax after long walks through hills of Lisbon.
Housekeeping was very good but came at odd times, often late in the afternoon disrupting a chance to take a nap during the day ( which was generally quieter than night time). This also caused the elevator to be frequently occupied by housekeeping staff and supplies mid afternoon when I returned to the hotel. Luckily I stayed on the 2-nd floor so taking stairs was an option. Some basic things were missing in the kitchen. No kitchen towel or dishwashing supplies, no cutting boards. Again, “form over function” : dishes were stored so high in cabinets I had to climb a chair to reach them ( I am 5’5” ).
I wish there was even a small outdoor or rooftop area to enjoy spectacular weather. Sadly, double windows had to be shut tight due to noise.
