About this cottage rental
Situated in Dublin, this attractive cottage for $423 per night is a great choice for your next break. Don't just visit Dublin, experience Dublin in any of our unique and original apartments. Not affected by the short term rental regulations introduced in July 2019. We have a self check in keysafe system in place, affording our guests the freedom of a flexible self check in. Our units are all completely self contained with full kitchen and laundry facilities in each unit. Our apartments are completely sanitised between guests with all door handles, rails etc. regularly disinfected. We have 3 apartments, 1 studio and 1 cottage on our site. We have named our apartments after Irish nationalist leaders to reflect our location in the historic Kilmainham/Inchicore area. The "James Connolly" cottage , is one of 5 rentals available at our Dublin Vacation Rentals. This cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and extra sleeping available on the 2 double sofa beds available in the living area. Dining and lounge seating for 8, with a fully fitted kitchen, ensuring a comfortable stay. The kitchen is equipped with fridge microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker and kettle, so that anyone considering an extended stay can enjoy all the comforts of home. We also provide clothes washer/dryer and an extra toilet. There is a good size bahtroom with a large widow and shower.and also a ensuite bathroom with shower. The "James Connolly" cottage is bright and airy and situated to the rear of the property, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay. Free wifi and secure parking included. Conveniently situated close to 'The Dubline' Dublin Discovery Trail, featuring Kilmainham Gaol and Courthouse, Richmond Barracks and The Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Ireland's oldest public building dating back to 1684. We are just a short walk to the War Memorial Gardens. Our guest comfort is our priority. Refurbished to the highest of standards, and located close to the city centre, but away from the excessive hustle and bustle. Easy access to all the top restaurants, pubs, museums and attractions that Dublin has to offer. For those who prefer a quicker route than the Dubline trail, the bus stop is almost outside the door with route 13 serving Guinness Storehouse, Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar, Trinity College and O'Connell St. We are also situated close to the New Children's Hospital in Dublin's James St. A 5 minute walk to the Luas red line,travelling via The Museum at Collins Barracks, The Jameson Distillery, Jervis St., Dublin Convention Centre and the O2. The "James Connolly" cottage is located to the rear of our Victorian period property which is situated on a tree lined road adjacent to the magnificent St. Mary's Oblate Church. There are some excellent local pubs and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk with music in some local pubs. Free Wifi and Free Parking. All conveniences are provided including linen and towels freshly laundered for your use. For anyone considering exploring Ireland further there is a car hire company close by and Heuston Station is approx 15-20 minute walk. Dublin is renowned for it's famous Temple bar area for entertainment which is a bus ride away. For art lovers the Irish Museum of Modern Art is 15 minute walk as is Kilmainham Gaol & Museum. The hop on hop off bus tours are accessible at Kilmainham Gaol. Tesco and Eurospar supermarkets are a 2 minute walk as are pharmacies, hair & beauty salons, pubs, restaurants and butcher shop. Excellent transport links. On Luas red line, which travels via Heuston Station, The Museum (Collins Barracks), Jameson Distillery, O'Connell St., Connolly Station,The 02, Dublin's big wheel and weekly market. Luas stop a 5 minute walk. Serviced by bus routes 13 and 40 which travel via Guinness Brewery,(5 mins), Christchurch Cathedral,(10 mins) St. Patrick's Cathedral, (10 mins)Dublin Castle, (12 mins) Dame St., Temple Bar and Grafton St. (15 mins), O'Connell St, Griffith Ave (DCU), Finglas and Ballymun. The cottage was perfect for our group of 7 . We needed a place which was very close to our daughter and her family of 2 young boys ages: 1 and 3. Valerie, the property manager, was superb in assisting us for many issues, during our stay. A replacement for the dishwasher arrived the next day of us complaining. We were delighted. We rented the place for 3 weeks, as we had all travelled from Australia, Germany and Canada. The floors creek quite a lot and you can hear anyone walking accross the dining room to access the kitchen. The carpets need to be replaced (new carpet already purchased) and some of the plumbing need to be at a better standard. Hot taps on the left, cold taps to the right of a basin. Drainage in the smaller bathroom shower is not so good, the water pressure very poor. The fact there is plenty of room to park and the automatic gate is really good if you have children playing outside. We also enjoyed a BBQ. Our daughter was able to access the cottage , prior to our arrival, and provided us with all the basic necessities, such as coffee; tea; milk; cereals; fresh produce etc. That was very helpful. The BBQ was brought in from my daughter's place too. The disposal of garbage/ recycling bins area, etc is a bit messy. But on the whole, we all had a great time together

Great neighborhood, convenient to buses and the Luas (Tram) 20-30 min to downtown and all that it offers. Couple of nice pubs a block a way. Grainne and Timothy are great hosts, very responsive. Fully equipped home, laundry, dishwasher, etc.

My husband, son (17) and I traveled to Dublin to visit our daughter who is studying at Trinity for the semester. The Inchicore cottage was perfect for our stay. Each morning we could easily catch the #13 bus into the city center to meet her. We would either take the bus or a short taxi ride back at night.
The cottage itself is roomy, clean, comfortable. and quiet We had plenty of room to spread out when we returned each evening. There are two grocery stores within a very short walk of the cottage and several good restaurants.

This property looked like it would work well for us (my wife and my two young-adult sons) as it had two full bathrooms (it turned out to actually be 2.5) and the second bedroom had two beds rather than one.
The hosts were lovely and helpful and the accommodations, while not luxurious, were clean and comfortable. We were generally able to get downtown (where most of the restaurants and tourist attractions are) in about 15-20 minutes on either the bus or the light rail system.
The area would I think be described as originally working-class, but it seemed quiet and safe and everyone we met was very friendly. Nice to have two grocery stores close by (as we had a full kitchen in the unit) and we discovered a couple of nice restaurants and pubs within a few minute walk for when we did not want to venture downtown.
While I likely won't be back in Dublin anytime soon, I would have no hesitation in staying again.

My friends and myself slept on the sofas and had a small heater to share. My daughter received a message from the owner and someone came in the morning only to find that the tank was not full and that there would be no delivery until the next day, the staff provided heaters and there was still limited hot water. There should be some reimbursement to me because I paid in good faith and not providing heat is negligence as an owner and someone stated this happened before. The place has a great location and very easy to get transportation.

This detached house was a great home base for our explorations of Dublin. The bus stopped on the road out front and was a short ride to city center. Two grocery stores are a few minutes' walk away. Inchicore is not a fancy place, but it seemed relatively safe.

We enjoyed our stay at this property near Dublin. Close to bus and tram system.
Property was clean. Valerie, the care taker, was helpful in bringing bag us extra towels and giving us tips of the area. Washer, dryer and small kitchen were handy for our family of 6. Good parking area. 1 full bath and 1 half bath were also handy.

Wir waren über den St. Patricks Day 2018 in Dublin und haben in diesem kleinen Häuschen ca. 5/6 km von Temple Bar entfernt genächtigt. Das Haus ist mit den wichtigsten Dingen ausgestattet. Da man hier nur zum schlafen ist, ist es vollkommen ausreichend.

Five of us were here for three nights and would definitely book again. Valerie was VERY NICE and gave us great directions! We could walk to bus stop and tram stop (we did both to get to city center), great pub food nearby at Black Lion. Thanks!!

An excellent place to stay in Dublin
The Inchicore area turned out to be a great location, with good connections to the city centre via the LUAS train. This property was a great option for a family travelling together. We stayed in the cottage, and were able to sleep 8 although it was tight. The rooms are a bit small but it has everything you need. Any requests were dealt with quickly and attentively by the owners. The lady who worked there, Valerie, was very friendly and gave lots of tips and advice. The owners put us in contact with Graham, who did a great job driving us to and from the airport, as well as a day excursion to Glendalough. I also recommend the nearby Black Lion Inn for both the food and the pub atmosphere.

Perfect place for our vacation!
We had such a wonderful time in Dublin! We stayed in the James Connolly cottage with four young children. It was great! Perfect location - we were able to walk to stores, pubs, a playground (kids' favorite). It was also easy access to bus line and/or taxis. And then it was just a quick ride into the city center.
The cottage itself was even better than I had hoped it would be. So spacious! We had plenty of space for the six of us. My kids really felt "at home" in the cottage. And it was so nice that it was it's own building, and set behind the busy street - peacefully quiet.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay! Thank you!!

Very nice stay in Dublin, Ireland
We had a great experience in Dublin, Ireland. The apartment was very comfortable for all seven of us. It was within walking distance to grocery stores and loads of restaurants. Graham, our driver, was very knowledgeable about places to visit. Grainne set us up with him to pick us up at the airport. She also checked in with us a few times during our week long stay. I would highly recommend this property along with any others they rent!

Fantastic home leading to a great vacation
The home was comfortable and we were able to relax after a long day of exploring Ireland. Thank you so much for making our vacation amazing. We could not get the television to work, but I think that was a bit of a blessing.

We enjoyed the cottage very much. It was comfortable and large enough for us, with convenient shopping and a tram service to City Centre. We always felt safe walking between the cottage and the local business center, and people were friendly everywhere we went. We had not stayed in Inchicore before, and I had meetings to get to, so I had to use taxi service a few times, but this was easily accessible simply by hailing one on the road. The apartment was very clean, the neighborhood quiet. Every time I called the owner, I got a helpful response. The cottage was accurately described in the listing.

Clean, cosy and in a real location
My family and I had a wonderful stay in Dublin. Our apartment was located at the back of the building and was perfect for us. It was spacious, clean and Grainne or Tim were always at the end of the phone if we needed some advice on exploring their beautiful city. We chose to use public transport for the duration of our stay, which was made easier by the apartments close proximity to the bus stop and the tram system. There were also plenty of affordable taxis for the later nights we had. We felt very comfortable and at home during our stay there. Highly recommend

Well kept property: away from busy city center,
The Cottage has 5 separate units. We chose the Grace Gifford apartment, living room dining room, small kitchen and bedroom with large bath attached. Very clean well kept. Had a minor issue that was repaired same day. Helpful staff for advice and any other needs - AND had parking for a rental car (very difficult to find in Dublin.) We stayed for over three weeks and this apartment allowed us to relax and enjoy our vacation. Try a walk along the canal - swans, ducks etc.... And close to a major Tram line (LUAS). But several city buses stop near the apartment, as well. With pub about 1/2km up the road and another 1/2km down the road, no need to drive. Also great Italian food (and prices) at Azteco Turino. (We have eaten there 5 to 6 times....)

Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean accommodation. Very highly recommended. The property was very well maintained. The listing regarding the location, layout and amenities was accurate and I would most certainly recommend this property to any of my friends and relations. The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful and nothing was to much bother.If you should have a query do ask them first. Time and Grainne are very approachable and anxious that their guests are happy in every way possible. I would have absolutely no reservation in recommending them in every way. This cottage is near to transport, if you do not have a car, and it is easy to get to any part of Dublin you may wish to visit. We throughly enjoyed every minute of our stay in Ireland. Excellent value
We stayed at the cottage for one week in March and we were delighted with it.
The space surprised us. it is quite large with a separate laundry room and an extra toilet.
The furnishings were lovely and there was plenty of room for our family of 6.
The secure parking at the back was a real plus and we felt right at home, enjoying our few glasses of wine around the large dining table.
The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of storage space and all the necessary conveniences.
The city centre is a short bus or Luas (tram) ride away. We used the number 13 bus to visit the Guiness Storehouse, Dublin castle and Trinity college.
We had a lovely meal in the Enotico Torino restaurant which is just down the street and would highly recommend it for authentic Italian food.
Tim and Grainne were most helpful to deal with and responded promptly to any correspondence pre arrival. We felt we were in competent hands and would highly recommend this property for a relaxed and comfortable stay in Dublin.
