Truly one of the most exceptional hotel experiences we have ever had!
This was our first time staying at a Mandarin Oriental property and it exceeded all our expectations, so much so that it has created a benchmark for what a 5 star hotel should be for us.
We came to Milan to celebrate my wifes birthday, and the staff were extremely accommodating with helping arrange a little surprise in the room. The attention to detail was simply superb and made our trip a little more special!
Not just that though, the level of service and attention you receive as a guest is above and beyond. From the moment of arrival, you just feel like you belong there. We drove to Milan, and the moment we arrived the valet was wonderful took care of our belongings and our car. Checking in was wonderful, every single member of staff greets you with a smile and you just feel at home. At the reception we were offered a nice welcome drink, given a small orientation of the hotel and were led to our room. The staff members all knew our names and it just added to the wonderful experience.
Our room was wonderful, in fact we were upgraded which we deeply appreciated! The room was set up beautifully and every little attention to detail was beautiful. Its the little things that matter when staying at a hotel such as the placement of the slippers in front of the bed or the way the towels are prepared. Its a nice feeling after a long day of sightseeing and walking around the beautiful streets of Milan, to come to a room that has been set up and catered to every single one of your needs!
I could go on and on about what was great! But i know one thing the hotel set a standard for us and we will absolutely be choosing Mandarin Oriental properties on our next travels and we know for sure this is where will stay on our next visit to Milan as well!
Thank you once again to the whole team for your efforts in helping arrange a special birthday surprise for my wife. It was wonderful!
Nothing, for the first time ever i can truly say nothing. It was all perfect! I just wish we had more time to stay here!

Modern, dark feel; comfortable bed; excellent, quick service from staff.
draught from around windows made the room quite cold, despite underfloor heating in the bathroom.
