property is nice .. paint smell was really bad

great view

it had just been painted and the fumes were terrible.. as we were unable to leave windows open as no locks on screens so birds come in the paint smell was with us all week..

gr8 unit could do with a good cleaning

unfortunately we had possums invade our ceilings & decided to have a fight for 2-3 hours one night then we rang the maintenance people on 0488801802 on Hamilton Island & they came & inspected the roof & ceiling cavities & put a trap. last night one of them returned & I reported that this morning but have been deprived of sleep. Also a lot of ants in around the kitchen windows which I sprayed.

Overall an excellent time. The nature is the island finest quality.

Our accommodation was perfectly located. A short walk or buggy drive to shops and beach/pool. The islands IGA & bottle shop stocked most items & was great for those balcony bbq over looking the water.

Food in general across the island was average at best however priced way above its class. Exception was the main pizzeria & the coffee from the Koala sanctuary was excellent & well priced.

Nice view, shame about the place. Would never recommend.

The view and location is good.

It is very old, the photos must be 20 years old. The furniture was damaged, sticky and mostly uncomfortable. Beds old, very average comfort and my husband got bed bugs. The kitchen was under adequate, old chipping frypans, handles falling off pots. No salad bowls, cracked mugs. BBQ igniter switch does not work. Air conditioner needs maintenance sometimes struggling to open.

Beautiful views but dated apartment

Great view from the balcony and super easy to get to the property with valet picking us up from the airport and taking us to our room. Having a buggy was a must do thing as well.

The apartment could do with a fresh paint job and a refresh. There are scuff marks all over the walls and it’s outdated. For the money you’re paying I would expect the room to be nicer. We were also provided with 2 towels and 2 beach towels for 7 nights. While there is a washing machine and dryer we were constantly washing the towels as no spares were provided. We tried calling the property caretaker 3 times and all 3 times it rung out and no one called us back. We were also advised in the email brochure access to the water sports however this is not true. This property is managed by Hamilton Island Private Apartments not Hamilton Island Holiday Apartments so free Access is not provided like we understood.

Passable

Key Collection was excellent and seamless - we were met at the airport with a Sign with our Name. Our Valet took our bags in a mini van and gave us the keys to the buggy and house. We then drove the buggy and followed him to the property. It was a good way to get to know the island and the way to and from the house. Checkout was good too - we were able to leave our bags in the room after we checked out at 10am, they were collected and stored somewhere until we met at the airport at 2pm and collected them. Being able to drive the buggy for the rest of our checkout day was a real bonus and all properties should do this.

We booked 2 months out, for last week of school holidays (July) and it was the only property left. I was a bit disappointed that in the middle of winter there were NO BLANKETS or heating. It was absolutely freezing in the house for the entire duration of our stay and no way to warm it up. The beds were made with a sheet and basic bed cover (very thin) which were in no way warm. After the first night I asked our contact for a Blanket for the beds. He said that "it" was being washed and would be delivered that morning (it did arrive). I asked for a blanket for EACH bed and didn't receive a reply until I followed up 12 hours later only to be told there were no blankets available for this house and there are no heaters available (Air con is only cold air). Spent nearly $3k for 5 nights - a bit disappointing overall Requested Twin Beds in the kids bedroom. When we arrived, it was made up as a King. Texted our house contact, he confirmed that yes it was meant to be twin beds and would have it fixed. We got home to a bag of sheets sitting at the door so I had to pulled apart the heavy beds, remake both beds. Not the end of the world, but also not how I want to be spending my first evening on holidays. Shower - Hot water was lukewarm at the best of times and very little pressure. Its a Shower in the bathtub set up, so you have to pull out a little plug to activate the shower head when turning on the water. This plug kept going back in during the showers so mid shower the shower head would stop working. Generally a bit tired and needing some updates. And a good DEEP CLEAN. It appears to only gets a quick wipe down in between guests as you can see grime build up in corners and on skirting boards. Lounge and Dining chairs super uncomfortable, BBQ was dirty, we couldn't use it. Fridge motor made loud noise for long periods.

Extremely disappointing. Dirty and dated. Far too expensive for what you get.

The view. The managing agents were responsive and appeared to me to be trying to rectify at least some of the many issues reported.

Here is the list of things I noticed that were problematic with the property. 1. Dryer broken - this was replaced whilst we were staying 2. TV in bedroom broken 3. Half of toaster not working - this was replaced whilst we were staying 4. Roof leaking onto dining room table 5. Bed spreads stained - see photo 6. No tea towels - these were replaced after a request 7. Mouldy blinds in second room 8. Filthy blinds in other bed room - see photo 9. Dirty spill stains on walls - see photo 10. Window in main bedroom supposed to be left open all the time to accomodate golf buggy charging - no security 11. Second bedroom smelled wet 12. Bathroom mouldy 13. Bathroom dirty 14. Broken furniture 15. Rusty knives, old pans 16. Stove broken - need to use matches 17. PowerPoint beside bed in main room doesn’t work 18. Lamp in main room only works intermittently 19. The place is freezing cold probably due to no glass in the bathroom window - see photo with garbage bag stuffed into the window frame (which was not done by us) 20. Extractor fan and lights over job don’t work 21. Lamp in main bedroom didn’t have a light globe We were disappointed to hear there were people booked in to commence their stay the day we were leaving so many of the issues would have remained unresolved. We were offered a full refund if we found somewhere else to stay but, of course, the island was fully booked due to school holidays.

a/ Front Door Lock needs to be checked as difficult to open at times b/ Toilet cistern runs 24 hrs per day unless you turn off the water inlet tap c/ Well worn towels in bathroom d/ Buggy Not Clean Candy wraps left on floor, windscreen dirty e/ Valet Service when telephoned did not respond after several calls, received SMS message the next day f/ Bathroom/ Toilet Floors sticky g/ Main Bedroom could not be used as electric cable through window to power the Buggy Therefore window remains open at all times--lack of security h/ Electrics need Attention as switch parts missing outdoor plugs for Buggy not working i/ Living Room cushions soiled-Cane broken on Coffee Table j/ Apt-- Generally tired and Shabby not what you would expect for price charged

Whilst the location and buggy access was great, I would not book to stay again.

Location was great and easy to get to places with the buggy access. We also enjoyed the access to watch movies from our devices on the TV.

There was an unpleasant smell when we arrived at the stay. The blinds were dirty, the sheets had stains on them. We weren’t able to place our items on the kitchen bench without ants crawling all over it. The stovetop was not working and there was a cockroach in the house also. The couch and it’s pillows also had stains on them. Overall, it was not worth the price we stayed for 5 nights.

Helconia grove

Close to pool,close to shops, close to airport and beach.

Beds were uncomfortable, air conditioning needs an up grade,air conditioning Worked when it wanted to.No matter how many times i wiped benches down there was always ants.Very pricey apartment.Dont think it was worth the money.There was no information of the property or the island.Had to find out on last day about the Hamilton Island app.

Disappointing

The location.

Dirty beds covers with blood on them. Dirty blinds. Broken bathroom cupboard. Long list of demands for use. No lightbulb in bed light. 2 towels for 5 nights. Chipped cups. Frayed ripped balcony furniture. Very expensive at 500 plus same price as a Raffles suite in Singapore.
