The hotel has a beautiful location.
I really enjoyed the fact that there is a sea view on one side and impressive mountain views on the other. The surroundings are very pleasant.
The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would especially like to mention Katerina, who was extremely kind, helpful and always willing to assist with any question or request. She definitely deserves special recognition.
Unfortunately, there were several things that I found disappointing, particularly for a hotel advertised as 5-star.
I was surprised to find that the safe in the room required an additional payment, even though I had booked a half-board stay for a week. In hotels of a similar standard, including many hotels in Crete, I have never been asked to pay extra for a room safe.
I was informed that towels are changed every two days rather than daily. During the hot summer weather, I found this less than ideal. Only after I specifically requested it were the towels changed daily. There was also no bathrobe in the room.
I also found the situation with drinking water unusual. Instead of receiving a new bottle of water each morning, guests are expected to refill their bottles with filtered water at the bar. This is not what I would normally expect from a 5-star hotel.
The food selection was also rather limited, both at breakfast and dinner. I expected more variety and choice from a hotel of this category.
Another issue was the noise. I had specifically booked a ground-floor room with a private pool, expecting to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. Unfortunately, in the mornings and also intermittently during the day, there was considerable noise from the cleaning staff’s trolley passing along the corridor. At times, this was quite disruptive and made it difficult to relax and enjoy the room and private pool area.
Overall, while the location and the friendliness of the staff were definitely positive aspects, I left somewhat disappointed.
The main points that disappointed me were:
An additional charge for using the room safe, which I would not expect from a 5-star hotel.
Towels were initially changed only every two days, which felt insufficient during the hot summer weather. After I requested it, they were changed daily.
The food selection was somewhat limited, with less variety and a less extensive menu than I would expect from a 5-star hotel.
Noise from the cleaning staff and their trolley passing along the corridor, particularly in the mornings and intermittently during the day, which sometimes disturbed my rest.
