The location was great in Reykjavik. Public transit was easily available & accessible. Very walkable to many places. Lots of restaurants and food options.
There is an airport shuttle that gets you right across the street. Be aware you do need to inform Flybus who will take care of it. They provide another smaller bus from the BSI station to various hotels & also do a pickup but be ready 1/2 hour before scheduled departure from BSI to the airport.
This is not a service provided by Guesthouse 101 but available through other means. We used Flybus.
There was a pretty good breakfast & the cleaning staff were friendly. Guesthouse staff communicated well through the booking.com message option as well.
Some staff were not as friendly, however that may have been the staff of the restaurant in the space that’s for reception. Either way, they are sort of the face you see coming in during their hours of operation.
We tried to reach Guesthouse through the intercom last night as instructed by those working in the restaurant to inquire about the arrival time of the Flybus shuttle but we couldn’t get through to anyone. I sent a message as well which was responded to but well after the time we’d need to know the information I was inquiring about. We erred on the side of caution & waited outside early for the Flybus shuttle.

The hotel was located on a main street leading to the city centre, about a lovely10–15-minute walk away. Bus stops were conveniently located at the hotel. The rooms for both periods of our stay were clean. The shared kitchen was a good idea, especially for tourists in a city with a very high cost of living. The shared showers/toilets were also clean and easy to use. Last, but not least, the hotel staff were helpful.
The reception was not manned all the time. When unmanned, communication was by intercom. The ensuite shower/toilet during our second stay from 31 May to 1 June needs some improvements.
