An excellent stay and great value for money, especially for a spacious cave suite with a jacuzzi in central Matera. The room was beautiful, very clean and naturally cool even without air conditioning. The jacuzzi was also very clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was excellent, with authentic local products from Basilicata and southern Italy. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, with great service and very helpful recommendations for exploring Matera. As a small property, the whole experience felt much more personal.
The main downside was the very limited check-in window, from 15:00 to 18:00. Arriving later also came with an additional €20 late check-in fee, which can be inconvenient when travelling by car and makes the arrival time less flexible.

The most beautiful old village - town i ve lever seen. The people of the hotel Mr Loucas , Cristal and Anna made the best to serve me. I ll visit again the place when it s possible.

The location.
First of all Poor breakfast. The staff was very persistent on us being punctual on check-in time. A member of the staff was supposed to pick us up from the parking lot nearby upon our arrival. We arrived on time, texted the staff that we were there and got a response that somebody would shortly pick us up. After 10 minutes we got a message that all staff members were busy and we have to go to the property on our own. Finally, on our check out (which had to take place no later than 10am) we requested to leave our luggage till the afternoon when we would leave Matera. The staff responded that we could leave our luggage only up to 12.30pm and that we had a car so in any case we could store our luggage there. As a result we had to spent our last hours in Matera carrying two bags with laptops and other valuebles, which obviously we could not leave in the car.
