Returning to Naples, we wanted to stay near the port area this time rather than city centre. This was an excellent location for both. Less than 10 minutes walk to the port and around 15 to 20 minutes walk to the historic centre or a two stop Metro ride to the main railway/bus station. The area was ideal, safe to walk around with good bars and restaurants. The room was exactly what we wanted and we had no complaints there. A real bonus is that the proprietor, Paolo, lives downstairs and was always on hand to help and to ensure our four night stay went to plan. He speaks good english and even put up with my poor Italian. He'll sort out taxis, if needed and a breakfast is available if you wish. We often just had coffee with Paolo then went out to one of the numerous cafe's in the neighbourhood if we weren't on an early trip to Pompei or Amalfi coast cruise. Would definately recommend.
The only downside for us Brits is that like a lot of european countries there was not a kettle for the early morning coffee/tea. We mentioned this to Paolo and it was soon provided.

Perfect location, Paolo was a wonderful host. He was very welcoming and I did not have the correct plug for my phone charger, so he had one for me to use. He was extremely nice throughout our 3 night stay and kept checking we had everything we needed. The room was very clean and also soundproofed. Open the balcony door to hear the wonderful chaos of Naples, close again to have a perfect sleep!
There was nothing we did not like. I think had we stayed for longer a small fridge would of been really useful.

The location is fantastic — just a short walk to most of the main attractions, yet tucked away from the busy streets, making it perfectly peaceful. Paulo was a brilliant host who made us feel completely at home and shared excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants as well as helpful tips for getting around the city. He truly is a gem.
Nothing to add.
