Easy to find hotel in a great location in a lovely area. On street free parking and free wifi. The evening meal was pretty good, and we both enjoyed it. Breakfast was exceptional. The staff was friendly, and the bar was a lovely area not noisy or expensive. we had a room downstairs which was spotlessly clean with a lovely shower and really lovely complimentary toiletries.
I would say the only negatives were in our room, you had a strange noise whenever the men's toilet upstairs flushed (we were in the room underneath the bar and men's toilet area), so this woke us up when we tried to get an early night. the other negative point was although the pillows on the bed looked great they were way too thick and caused neck pain when trying to use them so it was a choice between that neck pain or the neck pain from lying staright on the mattress, maybe some regular instead of super large pillows might be better? Great stay. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Very good room,clean,comfortable bed,excellent shower.
Very welcoming staff.
Recommended.
Breakfast included but really a hit and miss I'm afraid.
Eggs over cooked,sausages not cooked properly. 1 slice of toast for a full English breakfast is very little.
We've asked the girl for another cup(small) of coffee and she replied that it's gonna cost us extra??
Really didn't like the attitude so that could perhaps be corrected.
A car is recommended as its fairly hilly going up and down the hotel.

Modern room, lovely bathroom, nice hot shower, easy to find, good size room huge plump pillows.
Choice of fan or heater which was great due to no window in the room.
Upon arrival we were greeted but not in a very welcoming manner,
Was a basement room with no window, very modern and fresh but needed better cleaning,very dusty all over, lampstands, kettle and phone covered in dust.
Stains/marks all over the stools in room.
Stain on shower mat and hairs in shower that did not belong to us.
Breakfast albeit paid for with the room was disappointing,
Cheap gritty ham on the eggs benedict and overcooked greasy full english.
Only 4 parking spaces so parked on side road close, not a negative as such but states parking available on booking.com and all spaces were taken.
Overall a good clean, better breakfast and a warmer welcome and i wouldnt be leaving anything in this box and we would return to try it again.
