The location in Umeda is fantastic for exploring Osaka’s nightlife and dining scene. The hotel has a very stylish, boutique atmosphere with clean, modern rooms and a comfortable bed. We loved the welcoming, LGBTQ+-friendly touches like the E.T. and other fun toys in the lobby! The hotel staff was super helpful and amazingly friendly, making English communication completely effortless. Receiving a complimentary drink at the bar for skipping a room cleaning day was a great bonus. The shower setup in the bathroom felt a bit unusual at first, but we quickly got used to it and really enjoyed our stay!
The only minor drawback was the breakfast setup. You had to pre-choose main dishes every day from a set menu, accompanied by a small buffet selection (mainly a couple of pastries, fruit, miso soup, rice, juice, and coffee). Unfortunately, guests who preferred non-Japanese options were left only with the sandwich choice, which was good, but became repetitive over a five-day stay. I would suggest adding an English breakfast option (such as eggs or an omelette with bacon, cheese, and toast), alongside adding bread, marmalade, or Nutella to the buffet.

Location is good, lots of good restaurants nearby. The division of the bathroom into a toilet, a wet room with shower and bath and the lavatory in the corner of the room, takes a bit away from the overall beauty of the room, but is practical. Good amenity buffet and free coffee and tea bar.
It is NOT a 4 star hotel as advertised on booking, just a solid 3 star. Not a problem, but good to adjust expectations. There’s barely any storage space in the room, which makes it hard and chaotic to unpack. It does have a small drawer, but half of that space is taken up by a safe. Cleanliness declined over the course of our stay, or at least I felt so. They clean every other day, which should be more than enough, but I noticed that towards the end of the stay they didn’t even wipe down the surfaces of the lavatory and mirror anymore. Unfortunately, only one or two people of the staff spoke reliable english. I understand in general the japanese people don’t normally speak it, but in a hotel I think you should be able to expect a certain minimum level. And, worse than that, they wouldn’t be honest about it and woudl not just say when they didn’t understand. They would just say yes yes or refuse a request, and later you would find out that the taxi was never ordered or someone else could easily help with that same request…
