The hotel is situated in a quiet cul de sac below the pretty Church and next door to a gastro pub where we ate on the first evening. The staff were friendly and helpful and our bed was comfortable and the room quiet, with a roomy bathroom adjacent. The furnishings throughout are traditional with a feel of the past, especially all the hunting trophies and old photos of the property and information.
We booked late and had the last room available - it was very tired and needs decorating for the ceiling in particular is cracked and the light fitting dangerous looking. Everything works but the wardrobe leans at an angle and is very poor quality and the dressing table serves as the place for drinks making with a mirror that really only reflects the legs ! The wall mounted TV is OK, but so small as to make watching anything unpleasant whilst the macerator in the bathroom is noisy and functions even when using the washbasin. Filling the bath with hot/ warm water took a quarter of an hour ! Everything in there needs updating if the hotel is to charge the same rates as for top quality stays elsewhere.

Breakfast is lovely with friendly and prompt service.The beds are very confrtable with glorious bed linen. Dogs are welcome. Very central with ots of places to eat nearby. Lovely character old building.
It isn't 5 star so no lift but it is a great place to stay in Dulverton.

Location is perfect if visiting Dulverton.
Staff are welcoming. Breakfast was good.
The whole place is very tired/worn and needs an update, although it’s clean and comfortable.
The bar was closed on both Friday and Saturday which is a bit odd for a local pub.

Great location, charming little town on the edge of Exmoor. Beautiful setting, largely unspoilt.
Sad to see such a wonderful old establishment in need of so much investment. It probably just about gets by but unfortunately looks quite dejected. Ok for a couple of nights perhaps and a chance to see such a beautiful area. Doubt we will stay here again.
