This updated home's open floorplan provides an abundance of room for family and friends to gather. This gorgeous property is enchanting with its paved driveway, brick walkway to cove, and professional landscaping. We have an abundance of parking options for multiple vehicles and boat trailers. The "wake free" cove is ideal for floating, kayaking, and fishing. This location is especially convenient with easy access to multiple restaurants by car or by boat. Hiking at a national park, golf, ice cream stands and Bridgewater Plaza are amongst many of the nearby attractions. **RECENTLY ADDED** Outdoor shower!!! Brown Dog's Bluff provides incredible views from the Master Bedroom, Kitchen, Living Room and Lower level. The Main floor open living space has cathedral ceilings and is a great host for large family meals, movie nights or board games. You won't feel left out in this kitchen open to the living room, with countertop seating. The large dining table with 5 chairs and a bench welcomes 8-9 people. The kitchen, dining room and living room are ideal for large family/friend gatherings. You may not want to leave the large King Master Bedroom Suite with large windows accessing fantastic waterfront views, desk and huge walk-in closet. You will enjoy a luxurious and immense Master Bedroom Bath; it is spa-like, with jetted bathtub and separate walk-in shower. Free High Speed Internet and desk will accommodate your needs if you need to bring your work with you. 2 additional large bedrooms with Queen beds and additional Full Bathroom offer plenty of private living space on the Main Floor. An additional Half Bath provides access to facilities while showers are in use. When you transition to the Lower Level, children and young adults will be overjoyed with the 2 sets of bunk beds, large sectional couch, DVD player, Wii entertainment system and half-bath. The lower level also has an extra large Game Room complete with ping-pong table, foosball, pool table and dart board. This is a perfect solution to a rainy day or after-dark fun! Sliding glass doors on both levels provide additional light, views of the lake and make an inviting transition to our deck and patio. From there you will enjoy an enchanted brick walkway to the dock and ~wake-free~ cove. *RELAX and FLOAT* You may want to explore with the kayaks and life vests provided. Our floating dock is the perfect temporary host to your boat or jet-ski, or you may rent from one of many local marinas. Please tie up to the floating dock, as there is no access to the boat lift. We immediately felt at home in this lovely property. The owners were so accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions. The home was immaculate, everything was really thoughtfully done. The game room was such a nice addition to our lake days. The dock is amazing, the kayaks were so much fun. I took one out and just floated in the peaceful water, no fear of a boat speeding by and knocking me around. It was a little piece of heaven. Not enough nice things to say. Highly recommended and we would love to come back next year.

This house was extremely comfortable, in a great location and had everything we needed and more. There was tremendous attention to detail which made the house and property exceptionally cozy. The game room was perfect for our kids. We will absolutely stay here again.

Brown Dog Bluff was fabulous. Lovely and welcoming space inside and out. Airy and comfy throughout. The owners pay so much attention to every detail. We all loved the game room! The cove is perfect for floating and paddling, and also easy access to boat to lunch or dinner (our favorite), or hit Kroger and cook at home. We all had a really great time. I also loved that there was plenty of shade (including over the hammock!)

We have been renting houses at SML for over 25 years (time to buy, right?). I have to say that the location of this house is the best out of all of them! It is close to everything we needed: grocery store, boat rental and the marina for gassing up the boat. The house was tastefully decorated and comfortable with every appliance we needed. We enjoyed some of the games, puzzles, and game room, having a family ping pong tournament on our final night there. The kids thought it was great taking a shower outdoors. :) Holly was very thoughtful, accommodating and responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

My family enjoyed our 1st trip to SML! I am glad we chose this house to stay at. It is apparent the owners take great pride in their property. The house is beautifully decorated and maintained. It is very easy to prepare food since the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. The golf course neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed the dock and the kayaks. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and it was easy to tie up to the floating dock. Holly provided a ton of information about local restaurants and things to do. My kids enjoyed the basement game room and all the other games she has stocked in the house. We are looking forward to our return visit! Thanks for your hospitality!

We rented this amazing property the week of our daughters wedding in Rocky Mount,Va. we had a lot to do prior to the wedding so we didn’t utilize the property to its fullest but it had everything and then some! It was so nice to arrive with the beds made and a welcome card with a few snacks from the owner. We can’t say enough good things about Brown Dogs Bluff! If you are looking for nice clean quiet vacation house this is the one for you! Would absolutely stay here again

The home is so easy to get to, abundant parking, no worries about blocking someone in. The photos do not do this house justice. It is beautiful inside and out. Lots of room for everyone. Great house and quiet water front.

We were in town for a Liberty University graduation with lots of activities so it was nice to retreat back to this amazing property where we had everything we needed provide for us, Comfortable and beautiful accommodations and decorations. We loved the game room!!! I have been in the hotel industry for many years, I have a little higher expectations and this property met them all! Thank you Holly, for sharing your home with us, we will be back! We enjoyed the deck, the dock, kayaking and jet skiing on the lake, (we brought our own jetski). Perfect in EVERY way! From the gorgeous golf club community, to the circular driveway with plenty of parking, to the beautifully decorated home, to the welcome tray of tasty pastries, to the lovely landscaping and paved walkway to the LAKE, to the kayaks and adirondack chairs and covered patio table and seating, to the hammock, to the GAME ROOM, to the well-stocked kitchen, to the cavernous master bath and closet, to the first aid kit! We had a very enjoyable 5 day stay over the 4th of July. The property is very tidy and clean, and it's clear the owners (Holly and her husband) are very detail-oriented. They have thought of just about everything! They provided us unlimited ways to entertain ourselves, including board games, card games, ping-pong, pool table, foosball, etc. Perfect for a family vacation! The property is located in an ideal spot near the end of an arm of the lake (away from boat traffic) so it is very calm for swimming or kayaking. We rented a boat for the week from the local marina, and there was plenty of room to tie up to the dock. The only negative was the lack of linens being included, but an optional linen service is offered. Overall, we had a fantastic time, would definitely come back, and can highly recommend this property.

Excellent vacation with our young adult children and fur babies! The property was immaculate and has all the comforts of home, plus plenty of extras with something fun for everyone! This property was everything we could have hoped for to enjoy a few days of fun and relaxation! The house was super clean and cozy with great amenities like the game room, cute toiletries, kayaks, dog bowl and bed, and baby gates. There was excellent access to the lake via a spacious dock with kayaks, floats, and comfy chairs perfect for an afternoon lounging in the water. And the location was ideal - in a quiet neighborhood yet close to great restaurants and marinas. Everything was super easy with the hosts, who were very gracious and who had the highest of standards for a getaway rental. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to returning in the near future!

Easter visit
Everything about our stay was amazing. The views of the lake are incredible and the house was spotless, comfortable, and beautiful. The accommodations and extra touches left by the hosts were so thoughtful and valued, especially for our family. We spent most of our 5 day trip fishing off the dock and using the kayaks. It was difficult to get my husband away from the dock and impossible to get my sons out of the game room. We are so excited to return!
