We absolutely LOVED it here so much we stayed another night, we were in need of a few days to just relax and this was perfect, chill at hotel in the day and pop into town when we wanted
No water refill station, although staff kindly refilled when we asked

The location was great - it is the highlight. The hotel was clean. The reception was friendly and accommodating.
This is a 3 star hotel pretending to be a five star hotel. There is no air conditioning, no screens on the windows or patios (if you open the windows to let air in - you will be bombarded with bugs). The coffee was awful - the included breakfast was mediocre. You had to pay three times the normal cost to access drinking water. No shuttle service or easy means of transportation to the town or even to the entrance of El Penol.
