Property was great with a lot of space, I will consider that house to rent it again
1.0
The house was spacious, however right from the beginning we did not appreciate how dirty the carpets were in the bedrooms. We tried to not focus on it, although for the price the property is being rented, we expected absolute cleanest.
On the first night, one of us said she heard loud scratching sound from behind the bed board on the second floor bedroom. She wears while sleeping and heard the sound through them. That disturbed us, but we didn’t think much of it. Going to bed the second night, another girl saw a few dropping right by her bed. We inspected the rest of the bedrooms and found more by the closet door in the other bedroom. I immediately sent and email to the Five Star Agency about it and still haven’t received a response after 49 hours. That incident caused us to stay up all night feeling scared and discussed. We packed our belongings and just waited for morning to drive back on the Christmas Day. We also identified multiple droppings in the trash cabinet. We threw away all the food for obvious reasons.
This was a very disappointing trip to Big Bear. Even more disappointing and frustrating is the fact that neither the agency nor the property manager have responded to my email yet.
This property should not be rented with evidence of rodent presence as it’s considered unsanitary and health hazard! For this reason we expect a full reinstatement for the house and the food which we ended up throwing away. Hope to hear back from the responsible parties very soon.

They advertised "luxury", but the condition of this so-called estate was far from it! Carpets were filthy and super spotted with stains! Bath fixtures were broken and when you tried to hang a face towel, it broke. Cheap on the hand towels, paper towels, no oven mitts or any pot holders, not even salt or pepper! No stock pots, no pan sheets; some dishes were dirty upon arrival; only 2 thin hand towels to dry our hands and dishes; ice maker broken - would not dispense ice; griddle didn't work because knob was missing; several light bulbs were burned out; pillows (super flat) and blankets (super thin) felt like they were from the thrift store; they advertised ping pong and pool table - only one ping pong ball, paddles pads were detached from the paddle, no chalk for the pool sticks, and pool stick tips were totally worn; top bunk bed rail was broken; handle on armoire was missing; super dirty and dusty air vent returns; busted window blinds; took forever for the warm water to come (they need a recirculating pump); hot tub skirt was busted and the pump was super super LOUD - we had to turn off the pump to stop the noise; the kitchen pans were in horrible condition - all the Teflon scratched (which is considered toxic for cooking); shower door was super stained from hard water - looks so terrible that I was afraid to use the shower); not one roll of saran wrap or aluminum foil - no plastic baggies either for our leftovers. The pluses? Huge 4-car garage and dining table!

Great location and plenty of room to spread out. However, the interior is in much need of some tender loving care. Everything feels extremely used and worn and looks like temporary fixes were made throughout but aren’t so temporary anymore. Bare minimum as far as supplies are concerned. Could use wine opener and more than a two slice toaster for a home that sleeps so many, and master upstairs missing a trash can. Cleanliness was just ok, could tell many of the room’s hadn’t been vacuumed, many areas were very dusty and the air vent over kitchen table needs to be changed and cleaned. Overall though it fit the bill, I didn’t have any need to call management and everything went smoothly.

House was great! Very big and spacious we had a blast

The house is actually great! It’s super big and nice. The issue how they stock it with supplies and some broken stuff. They give you two tiny bars of soap that last one shower and are not sufficient enough for a weekend stay. There are no coffee filters, a lot of stuff is broken like the jacuzzi top. Limitless kithchen supplies like no work. The bender leaked. No hair dryer. The TVs work well though. There is no way to open and close the garage from the outside so you have to or close it and then walk around the house to get in and out. My issues is with the management company and they way they run the house more than anything. Oh they also make you drive your trash to a bear safe place when you leave. For a house like this it’s insulting not to provide a big more amenities and service. I feel like I’m not being treated well.

This home is immaculate, huge kitchen, dining and bedrooms each with their own restrooms. Our kids enjoyed the pool table, football table and Jacuzzi. We definitely enjoyed the home. The location was perfect close to the park, town and dining. We definitely needed more time to enjoy. We will definitely come back.

Our family wish we could stay a little longer because we had a blast in this huge beautiful house. And it’s in perfect location if you are into summer outdoor activities like biking and hiking as the trails are just nearby. We’ll definitely come back here in the future, maybe during winter season as ski resorts are also within short distance.

We had such a great experience at this cabin!
The cabin is much nicer than the pictures show. It’s very spacious, appliances and furniture are modern and adequate, unlike many others Big Bear properties that have old log furniture and tons of old rugs all over.
We went with family and close friends, adults in the mid 30’s and kids ranging from 1 to 16. Everybody had a great time!
We had issues with the sauna and some electrical in the kitchen, however the property management team handled it right away.
We brought some of our own kitchen tools, like instapot, but they did have a great variety of kitchen pots, dishes and silverware enough for our group of 13.
Cleanliness was good. Not impeccable for our picky standards, but it was good enough for most. And they did also have broom and vaccum available, which was. plus.
I was a little concerned about rodents, after reading a couple of bad reviews. I didn’t see any, or any signs of it. We did see some mice traps spread out though, but no mice or mice drops, thankfully.
Overall it succeeded our expectations and we’ll definitely rent it again!!

Had a great time. Plenty if room for 3 families. Nice cold AC.

Even though the front door is unlocked with a key code you must check in at a separate location where you will also sign more paperwork and give a photocopy of your ID.
Some problems with the house…
1. One of the showers would not shut off. It was running at a consistent rate. I messaged the property manager but never received a response.
2. The oven would not light for us and the knob for the flattop was broken off. Thankfully, we were able to cook using the provided pans.
3. The outside grill would not light.
4. The floors were very dirty. We took our shoes off and by the end of the first night, our socks were disgusting.
5. The paint job in the living room was poorly done. There are strips of white paint on the ceiling and walls. The dried-up roller and paint were left in the bar.

Very spacious home for a large group. Would definitely rent home again. Stove in kitchen needs some repairs, but didn't affect our cooking process.

Had a great trip and the house was great. Big bear caps at 16 occupancy, taking trash to a dump site and face to face check in with signed waivers.
House was worth it

Property was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay.
Issues:
1) The property has rats and mice. They ate food directly off of the kitchen counter tops. We killed one large fat mouse...
2) The pool ques and ping pong paddles need to be replaced, or don't advertise them.
3) Not having coffee filter is cheap.
4) Picking up the key and returning it is old school. Certainly a door code can be installed.
Thank You...I would rent the house again.

Great location, everything is 10 minutes away or less. House was as described, we had 6 adults and 7 kids and it fit us all perfectly. Would definitely stay here again.

Listing boasts about home for 16 - when in actuality really a home for 10 - the Loft area that has 6 twin beds, 4 out of the 6 only had a fitted and flat sheet, no blanket or comforter. The home is indeed huge and cold you need more then a sheet for sleeping. The kitchen is indeed huge as listed, however, it does not have enough plates for 16 people - we had 10 and used every dinner plate in the cabinet. We were left 3 trash bags and a 1/2 roll of paper towels. For a home that can hold 16 people none of these supplies would last but a day. Two of the burners on the stove did not work, the two kitchen sink faucets were supper loose and leaked like a garden hose if you didn't take the time to carefully find the "Sweet spot" to stop the leaking. There is a hot tub, however, each room was given two small thin bath towels, the loft that holds 6 were given ONE towel apparently to share, Not one extra towel anywhere, very hard to go in the hot tub with no towels. The master has marble floors in the bathroom and there isn't even a floor mat outside the shower - making it dangerous to step out of shower- not a spare towel to be had to use as a mat. I can't imagine how cold it would be stepping out on that the slippery tile in the winter months. No hand soap in the kitchen, not even salt, pepper or foil.
We contacted the Management Company shortly after checking in and was told that they had contacted the owner - about additional bedding who would be bringing us some. Saturday mid day still no one had brought any bedding. Contacted the Management Company again, very friendly and helpful but her hands were tied. I did complain that their "chefs kitchen" didn't even have a can opener. 5 Star Management had one delivered within 30 minutes.
This is a BIG HOME that advertises room for 16 when in actuality it "identifies" as a home for 10. bring your own bedding ESPECIALLY if you are there in the winter. Bring extra towels if you want to enjoy the hot tub. Bring EVERYTHING you need to make a meal as well as garbage bags, and paper towels. IF there are more then 10 of you - bring your own plates. Wine glasses are comically small and if you want some champagne there are 3 glasses for you.
There are MANY gorgeous rentals in Big Bear that can hold a big group AND provide a home that is purely "home away from home" - this unfortunately is not one of those homes.

Wow, this house is massive. It has plenty of space to house a large group of families. Every room has a separate full bathroom and the downstairs is very open with plenty of seating for everyone to fit for eating. The beds were comfortable and the amenities are solid.
The jacuzzi, pool table, and foosball table were all a big hit for our kids.
The location is very convenient to the grocery stores, lake, and mountain.
Great place to stay in big bear.

The most spacious, beautiful, clean cabin we stayed at. Would definitely go back

There were 12 of us sharing this house and it was great! Plenty of room, very clean, giant dining room table perfect for playing games, plenty of room for parking, including in the garage. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights and hope to return next year.
A couple of tips. Bring your own wine opener, as the cheap manual pullout was very difficult for over 50's ladies to use successfully. There was only 1 frying/saute pan, for such a large house they should have a couple of more. And there were no coffee filters, so make sure you bring your own! But the overall experience was wonderful.

This is a beautiful property!
We went as a group of friends as part of our vacation. Upon entry we were amazed at how big and beautiful it was inside. All the rooms were nice, big and each had it's own bathroom so there was no worry about who got a good room. Later in the evening we discovered a drip in one of the upstairs bathrooms. We called the management company and they were there first thing the next morning to fix it. The Foosball and Pool tables were perfect way to spend parts or our evening for our group of competitive friends. It was close to everything. We are still talking about how wonderful our stay was and plan to return again!

Everything was exactly as expected. Clean, nice, and the whole process was easy from start to finish. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great place to stay with older children and grandchildren. No arguing about who is going to share rooms or bathrooms. The younger grandchildren had lots to do along with entertainment for the older grandchildren. The kitchen/dining area was fabulous for fixing meals. Lots of room for everyone to help and then lots of room to enjoy the meal with everyone sitting at the same table. We loved the house.

We were a big group and worried will this place accommodate us. It was massive and all the bedrooms had their own bathrooms and TV’s. The location was very central to everything as well. All in all we had a great stay!
5.0
Three families with school age children stayed together in this home. We all had ample space and the kids never ran out of activities with the foos ball and pool table and cul-de-sac to play in. The balconies wrapped around the house on both levels would have been better served if there was furniture to sit and enjoy the weather and views. The table outside was very uncomfortable and weathered. The backyard could use some aesthetics or landscaping as it is all dirt and rock.

Great house with lots lots lots of room. Every bedroom has its own bath. Kitchen, dining room, and living room are massive. Had a one year old who went wild in the walker and could zoom about forever even with a huge play yard constructed (we brought) in the center of the rooms. Great knives, kitchen utensils, and lots of bowls, backing dishes but only one fry pan. Just fyi’s…. The master tub jets were not hooked up ( huge, the size of a small pool) the downstairs jacuzzi tub worked great. The kitchen stove top’s flat grill is turned off because of grease and safety issues (understandable). The air conditioners in this house worked amazing! Not alot of homes have air in Big Bear and it was a huge plus!!!! Access down to the back yard is via a metal spiral staircase, this is not ideal for small children. There is an abundance of outside decks but they are very high and the kids could not play on them even with all the incredible railing as we were not comfortable. The back yard is all rock and there were alot of weeds everywhere. You don't see any of the yard from the house because the house was built so high up. This meant we could not let the kids play outside at all. However there is a park down the road and we did a lot of walks. We would definitely recommend this house for large groups or families but not so much for people traveling with young children who you want to be able to open up and let them play indoors and out. We are planning to go back with an adult group and are recommending it to the group for this trip. The house was very clean and provided enough towels and supplies (allowed in this covid time). There is no extra anything in the kitchen because of covid. Bring spices , seasonings, condiments, foil, anything you need/use in the kitchen (this in all homes).

The house has very nice rooms with attached bathrooms which made it perfect for multiple families. The kids space was perfect. We easily slept 6 teens there. Bring your own comforters and towels- those were limited. With snow outside, you want big comforters. It had a huge table which we had really fun game nights on. It is right down the street from Snow Summit so perfect location.

Title says it best. We booked the place, picked up the keys, had an uninterrupted time at the house, and easily dropped it off the last day.
