Location in the historic Old Town, although the modern renovation removes the historical feel of the inside. Breakfast was reasonably good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and modern.
They advertise parking; (we will) "tell you where you can conveniently park right outside the door." which is nonsense. There are 3 parking places outside the hotel which are for residents and the rest of the street is a ped. zone. Actually nowhere to drop off your luggage. The parking building they use is about 5 minutes walk away and costs E18 per night. This is all manageable, but should have been stated up front. Everyone knows parking is at a premium in an Altstadt location, but be honest about it. It annoys me when there is no tea and coffee available in rooms, but that's not just here.

It was clean.
I didn’t realise there was no lift. I was travelling with a 76 year old and even though we had only a carry on bag, it was a struggle. In addition room 1 has to be the worst in the property. It has two steps down into the room. Two steps up to the bathroom level. One step up into the bathroom (which had no shelf space). The room is above the restaurant kitchen so everyday from 5pm to midnight is noisy with loud kitchen sounds. And in the morning from about 6am there’s a loud low constant noise - like a helicopter hovering nearby - which I think might be an exhaust fan. Overall, dreadful for peace and quiet. If you must stay, insist on not staying in room 1. And be warned about no elevator in the ‘historic’ area.
